I've already asked this question before but I forgot T_T I've looked at the ''Impartial warrior weapon guide'', but it was simply too complicated. Could someone tell me how to compare a weapon to an other considering it's speed. I know you have to count your total attack... but then what? I want to compare my sky skies (normal 6) to a slow (7) spear. Thanks

It is calculated by attacks per minute. Crusher (Slow-7): ~60 attacks/minute Crusher (Normal-6): ~64 attacks/minute

Okay... then what.. total attack times 64, then divided by 60?

Slow-7. <-- how do u find out its '7' and what does the number even mean... Sry if it sounds nooby i just never paid attention to wep speeds..

And certain if not all skills also have built in attacking speeds based on the speed of the weapon.

Multiply total attack with the ski by the number of attacks per min with it, divide by the number of attacks per min with a different speed of weapon, subtract att from non-weapon sources, and that leaves you with the att required on the other speed of weapon to match the damage over time. You should honestly be able to work this out just by thinking logically, but oh well. For which speed your weapon is, normal is always normal (6), slower is always slower (9), faster is always faster (3) (other than the GM weapon), but for slow or fast you'd need to look it up (although the main fast PAs and spears to note are the purple surfboard and maple impaler; both fast (5)); the guide does have a link to a set of weapon speeds for most of the existing weapons. For attacks per min with any given weapon speed with any given skill, again look it up. The atttack speeds are listed in the guide, but you may have to use ctrl+F to search. The speeds in the guide assume you are using booster with that speed of weapon, so if you're using a normal (6) weapon with booster, look at the normal (6) value. If you were to look the attack speeds up elsewhere, some will give you the un-boosted speed, meaning that for a normal (6) figure with booster, you'd have to look at fast (4); the speed normal (6) reaches with booster. The attack speeds stated earlier in this thread assume you use booster with the weapon (you'd look at the normal (6) value for sky ski with booster).

SenyainWell, the weapons' guide didn't really deal with DPS (I didn't even really think about DPS when I first wrote it), so I can't blame you for getting lost trying to find DPS info in it. Basically, here are the steps for converting from one weapon type to another's required attack for DPS. It's actually really easy. 1. Find your total attack with the original weapon and your miscellaneous attack (misc. attack = total attack minus weapon and attack shield, but INCLUDING the buff you want to compare with since that makes a difference; assume about 5 str = 1 att for shield comparisons, i.e. 17/10 shield = 19 att). 2. If the weapons are different types, multiply the original weapon's total attack by the weapon type damage ratio. Since you are a DrK, this should be unnecessary since spears and polearms are used in different scenarios (meaning you should just use the same number from step 1 as your number for step 2). It applies mostly to sword/axe/BW users and maybe 2nd job Spearmen. 3. Take your result from step 2 (since you are a DrK, this is still just your original weapon's total base attack) and multiply it by the attacks per minute your original weapon gets. 4. Divide the result by the number of attacks per minute the new weapon gets. 5. Subtract your misc. attack from the result of step 4. The result is how much attack you need on the new weapon (this includes shield if applicable) to match pure 0-defense DPS. Sample: Converting 120 Fairfrozen, 40 misc. attack including Elixir to Sky Ski: (1) 160 total attack, (2) skip, (3) 160 * 60 = 9600, (4) 9600 / 64 = 150, (5) 150 - 40 = 110 att Ski. I'm pretty sure that for a DK/DrK, the attack rate figures for Fury + Booster are: 97 att/min for Fast(4), 89 att/min for Fast(5), 80 att/min for Normal(6), 77 att/min for Slow(7), 72 att/min for Slow(8), 67 att/min for Slower(9). For Crusher + Booster they should be 74 att/min for Fast(4), 69 att/min for Fast(5), 64 att/min for Normal(6), 60 att/min for Slow(7), 57 att/min for Slow(8), 53 att/min for Slower(9).

Senyain
XAssassinXVV : This is so much easier to understand. You should edit the guide :o
I would if a. I was the author of the guide's current form and b. It was a guide about DPS. As it happens, neither of these is the case. I DID write a separate guide to total DPS calculation and weapon DPS comparison specifically for warriors, but for some reason it was never stickied and fell into oblivion.
