Ok I was going to make a cleric becuase I'm thinking...fast leveling, richer class, and fun...Although now fromreading Mage guides I'm unsure. Are clerics strong? Because I'm looking for a strong Mage class. Now I hear Ice/lighning classes are better? Help pls!

Clerics really are boring until 4th job imo. I/L's are good. I haven't tried F/P yet though.

I don't wanna speak on behalf of all clerics cause im only lvl 53 :/ But so far Cleric has been my favorite class, Although I'm sure i'll get bored soon. But not really all that strong until higher levels.

clerics are fun but not made for damage. so yeah, if you want high damage, dont make a cleric. i dont think any mages are made for high damage. maybe try a different class?

2nd job Fire is strong on one target. Ice is better on multiple targets. Cleric is only good on undead maps, but they mob pretty well then. 3rd Fire has some really quick training with misting apparently. Ice has a good mob attack, a good 1v1 attack, but nothing amazing. Priest has a good enough mob attack, and a exp-increasing buff that only helps in parties. 4th Fire/Ice use more potions because of elemental amp, but do more damage. Bishop has a faster attack, and is holy, so great for skele's or gallos. Apparently, about clerics being rich, Genesis 30 price? Very painful if you fail. Metoer/bliz price? much lower.

Ok I'm still unsure...About ice mages, what would I max first? Thunder or ice beam?

Depends Ice Beam is like PWaaaahh POWAAAAAAAAAA! And thunder is like Bzzzzzzt 6 monsters okay damage. I'd say Ice.

@aboveni have an Aran. I am only looking for a strong Mage class because I need a change of pace...So decision time...Ice or Cleric?

You do know F/P are stronger, or at least will be after the patch. I think you would get bored with a cleric though. It should be your decision, do you want to help people and be alright at damage until higher levels? Or do damage?
