This is a math probelm.. In "Completing the square" There's a formula : "y=a(x-h)^2" What does the "h" mean ?

Go to Mathway dot com. All you need to do is go on the website, click what your in. Ex, Pre algebra then type problem, i think you should understand it from there sadly i think it only gives the answer

It's a variable, like, any number. Shouldn't the formula be y=a(x-h)^2+k though?

h and k (assuming your in trig) are the x and y numbers and put them in respective places

h is the horizontal shift of the vertex. If h is positive, the vertex moves h units to the left. If h is negative, it moves h units to the right.
