BEFORE READING FURTHER, READ THIS: I am not complaining I got hacked, or anything of the nature, and therefore this isn't a "I got hacked halp wat do I do" that belongs in Mr. Basil's thread. I am not promoting hacking or anything of the nature, and am therefore not breaking that rule. Those things being said, I was talking with someone (PersonX) in Free Market today when someone else (Hacker) came up and tried to get PersonX in his guild. PersonX refused, and Hacker asked if PersonX wanted to be hacked. PersonX basically said sure, so after a couple minutes, he left and tried to log back on, only to find his information was messed with. He came back on under another account and said as much, and then left. So I was left with Hacker. He asked me if I wanted to be hacked and I responded, "I'd rather not." So he didn't. We talked about what I was doing in MapleStory for a few minutes, and then I asked him about his hacking. He said that he does it for fun, and that the other guy would just have to get his information sent to him and he could fix it himself (and he told him this), so no lasting damage. We talked a bit more, I bought some scrolls off of him for roughly market price, and then I told him I had to go, so I logged off, ate dinner, and came onto Basil. Overall, the dude was ok, other than his hacking. Obviously messing with someone's account info isn't the nicest thing to do, but it was just a show of power more than anything else. And he asked me if I wanted to be hacked and when I responded "No" he said "Ok" and then dropped it. I asked him a couple questions about his hacking, namely why he did it and such, and that was the end of it. I suppose I made this thread for three reasons. Firstly, I'm interested in hackers and their reasons for doing it. From him, I gathered that it was just an amusement, and it helped him show off his power. Secondly, to show people that not all hackers are OMGLeetKillYourAccount. There are hackers that steal your information for malevolent purposes, those that hack to test VAC and Maple's security, and those that do it for funsies. Thirdly, to urge Basilers not to provoke hackers. They DO NOT need your account information to hack you. They don't need you to accept any files outside of the game, and they don't need you to accept their trade/buddy request. They can simply do it.

Your point is invalidated, and I would appreciate it if you stopped trolling.

Lol no matter how much of a proffesional one is u can't simply say "want to get hacked" then do so 5 secs later. Hacking requires work to obtain info. And can't simply be procured simply by desire. So no what the ts is stateing isn't possible. This is just a sad attempt to scare ppl and needs to be locked asap

Calling me dumb adds nothing to the conversation other than trying to get a rise out of me by insulting me. In addition, "Learn the term troll...How childish" is more trolling. And what do you mean "[I] can't say either then"? I didn't say how close we were or anything we said, so for you to assume he was some passerby in FM would be just that: an assumption. Just because I don't list certain information doesn't mean you can make inferences and use them as facts. Edit: Oh, you changed your post so it makes sense now. True, I don't know whether or not they knew each other, but I do have a relationship with PersonX that would imply something like this wouldn't happen. In addition, the "trap" would have been too elaborate and would not make much sense in the context of the situation.

Now what if I'm right. I could be wrong but you have no way to tell. Therefore you cant say they aren't close together because you don't know. I said they are they might not. You said they aren't they might be. You don't know I don't know. Therefore we don't know. That argument cant be used then because it's my word against your word, considering you're not special your words aren't better than my words. You edited your post so: There have been scams where 2 people who know each other, where one goes. S>Green wish ticket->anything rare and another saying B>Green Wish ticket for 20 mil. The guy who sells the green wish ticket will trade for you for 10m. You try to trade with the Buyer of the green wish ticket, That guy either logs off or doesn't accept. IF something like this could happen. Why not your scenario?

While I admit the possibility that the two have spent their days conspiring to get... what was it? Actually, they got nothing from me, so if they were conspiring, it was for naught. So while the possibility exists, it's probably along the same lines as your friend IRL stealing your phone while in the shower and selling it to someone at school.

[/quote] How is Person X not random? They did get you to do something, they allowed you to spread more rumors that aren't true to the world. They got something. They got 100s of maplers crying to Nexon saying its their fault. You have maplers thinking these haxxor fools exist. Back to the main point though, How is Person X not random?

[/quote] LOLZ thats not possible at all, you don't even no how dc hacks are commenced, so shush, they dc by a person using a special third-person program to whisp-spam you so much, that within a second, you dc because your computer cannot keep up with the amount of messages, anyways im not into dc hacks, so im not 100% saying im right, also, interesting thread, i do agree, hackers use hacks to feel powerful. I am a hacker myself, i never use those lousy trainers, they run out of date everytime maple patches, i use a better one. Hackers are normal maplers, they aren' *below rank* in anyway, they just happen to know a few sites xD anyways i use my hack (mostly godmode) for advantageous purposes, to gain an advantage over other players, i think my choice is smart, i've never been caught, b/c gms don't go peeking into PQs and jester training places often xDD pm me for any questions or comments
