I'm very angry today. I've got all 98~100s in all of my classes, except French. I've got an 87 in that class. Now, I'm not angry for that grade, I'm actually pretty happy becuase I though I was going to get a B-. But my parents are super angry now. They've taken my computer and TV priveleges away until June, and I'm stuck here typing this up to you on my iPod. I'm the 1st in my class, and I'm a freshman. My parents are so unfair! (I'm Asian, go figure. Stereotypes about Asian parents are true.)

I feel for you. I got invited into a math competition, and my parents got mad because I didn't get into the next round, which is like states or national or something. I was actually somewhat close too >.>

you think that was extreme? i got restricted from playing any games for my life. -.- just about anything you can think of, is either taken away or prevented from being used.....they blame everything that goes wrong on video games and i have difficulty as to knowing why when all i do is study and it wouldn't hurt to take a break.... they make crazy assumptions and as a result, banning me from things i find entertaining or fun to do. i.e games, hanging out with friends, etc.

Those parents are crazy... 87% is pretty good and my parents just say as long as I try my best it's okay xD (Despite this.....you're not gonna believe it but...My parents are asian too XD)

Wow that's shocking. Our french program sucks. We just have one teacher. Lol. Oh and if you have A+s, you could try shifting your priorities around to classes in which you have low As and Bs/Cs because those are more important. Last semester, I came out with all A-'s but, to do so, I had to let some classes I liked a lot (ie Spanish) slip in order to put more effort into classes where I had been struggling.

My parents are Asian, but they don't get that mad at 80's (I got only one... on my midterms). :o Leave and don't come back to your house for at least a week. That's gonna bring down your grades a little and your parents will be worried sick about you. Find a place to stay, and call them. Threaten them that you won't come back until they loosen up on you. When they finally do, they'll realize how strict they must have been to force you to go to such extreme measures to prove a point to them. Do something extreme even if it's not that ^. You need to get them to realize they're too strict. Whatever you're going to do, GL. :D

Just let me tell you this my friend, if you come from an eastern Asian background with parents that have mediocre jobs, you have absolutely NO CONTROL OVER YOUR DARN LIFE! They sign up for tutors you don't need and without telling you, they force you to do unnecessary extracurricular activities, they kick you out of your house when you get 90s or 80s on your report card, they question everything you did and will not let you go outside of your house to socialize since it's not "academically efficient for your life", the list goes on and on. And the worst thing of all, they don't realize that all these things grow depression and hatred in their kid's mind. This has to stop. I just want Asian people of this generation to treat their kids with respect, and know the limits of their children. I'm certainly not pressure my kids as much as my parents did.
