When you cross a red light

Ok so I understand that a bunch of you are going to be going like WTF right now. That's okay, I don't blame you. What I'm trying to get past here is the expierience that just unfolded itself to me today. And heck, it wasn't a good one. So it was around 4pm. I drive back and forth everyday from home to my college. So today I was driving on this road that has a messed up stoplight. I was going 35 so I had enough time to stop my car and not go on the yellow light. What I see out of my mirror changed everything: this man in a grey mini cooper was accelerating past 50 at the least. The stoplight flashed red but he still continued to go. Out of the corner of my left vision, I saw a blue chevy speed up because it was a green light for that driver. Then- BAM! Both cars hit each other at 60, 70 miles an hour (I bet) and glass, steel, and car parts go flying everywhere. It was a horrible sight! Remember. Drive safe. Thoughts?
