So what's the big secret about fast food joints?

I mean: -A good friend of mine has started to work at Wendy's, and she says she'll never eat there again. -Another friend of mine's sister worked at McDonalds. Never is going to eat there again. -The Basiler who started the Job Thread says she hasn't eaten at Taco Bell since she started working there. Except for the Basiler, everyone I listed also WILL NOT tell me why they are so disgusted by the food. So, anyone who knows about the inner mechanics of the fast food industry, I am kindly asking you to tell me what is the big dark secret. And trust me, unless it turns out they use human meat in the chicken nuggets, what you say here will most likely not stop me from going to said restaurants. I really don't care. None of my friends get that.

Overall it just depends on the person, I am Muslim myself but personally still eat bacon because I think that the reasons to why it was banned for us to not eat it is really just a cover up.

[/quote] religious reasons go along with not trying it as most muslims and jews would never thing of trying bacon since its against their rules and therefore tehy cannot say they dont like it without breaking the rules to try it.

I've worked at a fast food restaurant for four years, and I still eat there. I don't know about other chains, but [my] McDonalds is fairly good about sanitation procedures, so it's not like you'll get sick from it. I suppose it's just too much when you have to see how the food is prepared. The amount of grease and fat that comes out of the meat when the platens (covers of the grill that cook it from both sides) come up can be a little disgusting.

I think it's how the precooked food arrives. and also, they learn what it's made of. Say, chicken nuggets, for example. They're actually a blend of the entire chicken that's been deboned. Farmers select chickens that're old and cannot lay any more eggs, inject them with hormones to make their breasts larger, then debone and in the shredder they go. Haven't any of you wonder how there are so many chicken nuggets?
