Gunned's Battleship Effectiveness and Survivability guide There seems to be a lot of questions about the battleship skill for Corsairs. It seems the potential and its effectiveness is still shrouded in clouds. In the guide I will show you what the battleship is capable off and if Corsairs power is really as powerful as stated in all those damage per second threads. Table of contents 1: Updates 2: Battleship cooldown timer 3: Battleship hp 4: Battleship damage 5: Dismounting 6: Conclusion 7: Credits Updates ~04-02-10: First upload. ~04-02-10: Fast update. updated the dispel effect and corrected some misspelled words. ~04-02-10: Added Dismounting to the guide. ~05-02-10: Added Dismounting in-depth analyse to the guide. Battleship cooldown timer To start with when your cooldown timer has reached zero you are able to use your battleship. Whenever your battleship breaks, from that point the cool down timer start ticking from the starts. This means you cant outrun the cool down timer by keeping your battleship alive. Battleship Cooldown timer before balance patch: 1: 90 sec 2: 3: 4: 5: 6: 7: 8: 9: 10: Battleship Cooldown timer after balance patch: 1: 90 sec 2: 90 sec 3: 90 sec 4: 90 sec 5: 90 sec 6: 90 sec 7: 90 sec 8: 90 sec 9: 90 sec 10: 90 sec As you can see the cooldown timer goes up when you have more skill points in battleship(this offcourse before the balance patch). After the balance patch this has been fixed. It means that at every level the battleship cooldown timer will be 90 seconds. Battleship HP The hp of your battleship is calculated by the following formula: (skill level * 4000) + [(character level - 120) * 2000] The table displayed below shows the health points of the Corsairs battleship before the kms balance patch. This includes the fact that every corsair keeps is battleship at level 1 because of the increased cooldown timer. Player Level - Skill level - Health points 120 - 1 - 4,000 121 - 1 - 6,000 122 - 1 - 8,000 123 - 1 - 10,000 124 - 1 - 12,000 125 - 1 - 14,000 130 - 1 - 24,000 140 - 1 - 44,000 150 - 1 - 64,000 160 - 1 - 84,000 170 - 1 - 104,000 180 - 1 - 124,000 190 - 1 - 144,000 200 - 1 - 164,000 The table displayed below show the health points of the Corsairs battleship after the kms balance patch. Because there isnt any increase of the cooldown timer people will now add skill points into battleship to increase survivability of the ship. Player Level - Skill level - Health points 120 - 1 - 4,000 121 - 1 - 6,000 122 - 1 - 8,000 123 - 1 - 10,000 124 - 1 - 12,000 125 - 1 - 14,000 130 - 1 - 24,000 140 - 10 - 44,000 150 - 10 - 100,000 160 - 10 - 120,000 170 - 10 - 140,000 180 - 10 - 160,000 190 - 10 - 180,000 200 - 10 - 200,000 As you can see by maxing battleship your hp sky rockets from 44,000 hp to 100,000 hp. And at level 200 you have a whopping 200,000 hp battleship. The balance patch for the Corsairs is for sure a warm welcome to the effectiveness of our battleship. Battleship damage No Im not talking about dps but im talk

Looks like a good guide on the Battleship. It should answer a lot of questions for new Corsairs. One thing you might want to change though are the HP numbers. I can see a lot of US players coming in asking why you said battleship only has 200 HP at level 200. (We use comma's to separate thousands over here in the US. example: 400,000 = 400 thousand. And periods are used for the decimals. example: 4.100 = four and one tenth.) So I would say something like 20k or 20 thousand, just to avoid confusion.

Yeah I've seen that in a few countries and I figured that since you were from EMS, it was probably how you did it in where you come from.

Dispel has no effect on battleship. You will stay mounted on your ship when you take a dispel.

You should post a section on dismounting. I see some spelling errors too.
Guide : "With an intermediat player"
I think this should be changed to "with a good player". And in the credits "lister" should be changed to listed. I'll tell you about why/when to dismount. Dismounting "Dismounting is a vital skill, every corsair should learn." The above is indeed true. Dismounting is a very good skill to pratice. What is Dismounting? Dismounting is basically getting off your ship right before a touch/magic attack hits you, to avoid damage. Why should I dismount? You want to learn to dismount so that you may avoid taking damage to your ship. This will allow you to stay on your ship longer, and output more damage. When should I dismount? The big question! Dismounting is only really worth it in three situtations: 1: When a monster/boss does a 1/1 attack 2: When your about to take high magic damage. (This is usually above 2.5k, and its worth it since thats quite a hit to your ship's HP) 3: When you are about to take more then 1k touch damage from a monster. Constently bumping into it, will lower your ship's HP faster. The only situation which taking touch damage is worth it, is if its low, and prevents you from taking a higher m.att damage. EX: Zakum. How to dismount Get off your ship about 1 second before a m.att, or touch damage is about to hit you. 1/1's are easy to spot at large bosses such as Zakum, Paputalus, and Horntail. Learn what the magic attacks, and 1/1's look like, and you'll be that much better of a player.

In your thing about how to dismount, I'm assuming you haven't been to HT much. During the preheads, it is fairly easy to spot attacks, but once you get to body, there is no dismounting really. You will get hit so often with attacks that are very powerful. If you wanted to dismount for everything, your dps would go through to floor so much that it would be better for them to take someone else. You stay on your ship cannoning away as long as your ship has hp. When it breaks, you rapid fire. The only reasonable place that you could start dismounting is when you are down to just the middle head and the left arm. Maybe when the left head is there too, but you will still be dismounting a lot.

There's also a new kms patch which results in various upgrades to Corsair skills. One of them is the increased durability of Battleship. It states "Durability of Battleship has been increased." Does anyone know the actual NEW formula for the battleship?
What they mean what i understood of it was that the defense and magic defense where raised for battleship and the cooldown timer will be 90 seconds at all levels. I dont know if they actually changed the formula because no one that i know has put more then 1 point into battleship so far. So if you have more points please tell us about the cooldown timer etc.

I have max Battleship, I've never timed, but I'm pretty sure that the cooldown never went up. Or I have just never noticed. So can anyone else confirm that? And I think "Durability of Battleship has been increased." means durability is getting increased, not the defense.

I wonder because in the ksm balance patch is said that the cooldown of battleship will be the same at all levels so there must be a difference in the cooldown. or else that statement would be completely false
