I've been considering making a Regular-DEX STR Bandit for the hell of it. I figured the prices must have gone down since the whole "DEXless Thief" craze, but I've been seeing how both thief classes have these meso-burning skills in the 3rd job (ex. Meso Explosion for Cheif Bandits, Meso Guard for Hermits). As a bandit, do I really have a choice of bossing/traning with meso explosion or not? Or do a lot of chief bandits train with meso explosion? EDIT: What if I don't plan on going for the 3rd job? Are thieves still meso-burners as 2nd jobbers then? EDIT2: Woops, I never considered looking at the Theif Skills section of Basilmarket before making this thread.

I have spent more money CB than my NL pots wise, even with MG, however, the stars on my NL have cost me about 3 bil total I only used ME as a training skill when with pickpocket or from meso monster drops

meso guard actually is cheaper than just using pots UNLESS you're training with a healer which then makes you use mesos WHILE being healed for free
xkunaisx : Really? On equips maybe, but everyone needs to burn money for decent equips. Training wise, drain, alchemist, and even mesos up helps compensate for pots.
Not exactly true. In terms of equips, I've spent maybe..87m total on my Level4x Dit, and about 2x as much for my 75 Hermit, mainly due to OP claws/ Lv70 Dark Set/ stars. Personally, I hold that ALL Classes are meso-burners until like, level 40, because you get 'good' in Ludi PQ, Carnival PQ, and those GFA scroll quests from NLC. :D

Meso Guard is for CBs, and it saves money. Only crazy overfunded CBs train purely on ME, from level 70-90. Don't do it unless you have lots of money to burn (by that I mean billions). You just need skill to use Assaulter, BoT, and SB in the right situations to do well.

Training wise thieves are very money efficient characters. Gear wise though thieves are probably one of the most(if not the most) expensive class to gear.

As for the issue of equipment, it's only expensive if you're actually willing to spend that much. Otherwise, as with all classes, you're able to survive with mediocre equipment; just that you may experience a slightly lower %/hr.

Cheif Bandits arent meso burners, there equips tend to be cheaper and they got meso guard. Hermit/assasins are meso burners if u plan on getting good stars and good claw and stuff like that. althought we got drain which heals like 50% of our hp
xalex094 : doesn't make any sense, Rephrase that. :o
He means like, if you've got a Cleric spamming heal on you, there's little point using Meso Guard since your HP will fill back up almost instantly. I usually do this for Zakum Arms and Hsalf, myself. A bit of money saved is still money saved. As far as Pickpocket and Meso Explosion go, Meso Explosion is only good if you set up your own bombs (which is a waste of time and money). The best time to use PP/ME is when a boss uses a Super Wep.Def buff; you'll be able to dish out more 1's than other characters, and can even hit 2's and 3's. Pickpocket is also useful as a hit indicator, so you know when you're hitting the target among all the spam of the other classes during boss fights. Training-wise however, both very useless skills.
