Do you have to redeem or gain new skills like Aran or do you get all the skill after you get your job?

there are supposedly quests that give you extra skill points though.

Read the guide. You have all of your skills in the beginning, but you don't have enough SP to max them. The quests you do give you extra SP to use (though I think it only works for the skills at that Mastery).

There are quests for mastery points and dragon equips, I suggest doing them.
