Intro: If you look in M, maplestory's site, you will notice, they are going to change the way the game is launched, in a certain amount of time. Look below Dear Maplers, MapleStory will soon be moving to a new method for starting the game client. Rather than launching the game from your desktop, the game will be launched directly from the official MapleStory website. Once the game is patched, the icon on your desktop will now direct you to the official MapleStory website. At the website, simply log in with your Nexon ID, click on the large �Start Game� button and the game will launch. It�s that easy! Frequently Asked Questions Q: My desktop MapleStory icon now takes me directly to the MapleStory website. How do I start MapleStory now? A: Simple. Once you�ve arrived at the official MapleStory website, you will see a large button that says �Start Game.� Clicking on that and using your ID and password to log in will launch the game. For more detailed information, you can follow these STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS. Q: What does start MapleStory from the website mean? A: MapleStory is introducing a new method of starting the game in which players will be directed to the official MapleStory website (http://maplestory.nexon.net) in order to start the game client rather than starting the game directly from the desktop. Q: Why are you switching to launching MapleStory from the website? A: Moving to launching from the website allows us to do several things for our players: - It allows your game and web experience to be combined into a single log in. You will now be logged in to all of Nexon�s websites whenever you use Start MapleStory from Website. This should make it easier for players to find game information, get technical support and switch between games. - It helps us to better communicate with our players. By placing messages of importance on the website (in-game events, maintenance notices, technical issues, update notifications and the like), we can be sure of reaching you as you log in to the game. - The website is already available when exiting the game. This ensures that any emergency message affecting gameplay will be visible. - It allows us to display Web-only and community event notifications that help us enhance your MapleStory experience. Q: Will this affect the game or how I play the game? A: No. The only thing that is changing is how you start the game. This does not change the game or gameplay in any way. I took away the space skipped, took too much space Ok so we now all know. Now....Maplestory isn't the only MMO that is using this method (or for M.S, going to), to me, this is quite annoying 1st, I find that the M.S patcher/launcher that they currently have, is good, if not great, i don't see any big threads complaining about how the game doesn't start O.o 2nd, When i start up the computer, i find that the M.S launcher that we currently use does NOT lag, simple w8 for it to load and click start, and once inside, a nice screen with nice musi

I think so it lets you know updates, AND provides traffic to the official site. I mean before, you clicked on Maplestory, and gamgaurd booted, and it started; no clicking play.

I think this is a great way to start MapleStory. Some reasons why: 1) Nexon now ensures you will see what is wrong with your connection by simply posting it on the website (patches, maintenance, etc.) and it ensures you are connected (if you cannot go onto the web, you cannot play MapleStory). 2) You will no longer have to log in twice to access the website and the game. 3) Nexon can now reach more people. People will be more likely to look at the website and what it offers, including the forums, and receive messages.

they might as well give maplers a play-at-home starter kit and play the game by disc; why log in by site when you can boot a cd? f3

lol by the way people, those of you who think this is good, keep in mind, 1st-I believe nexon gains money from you going into their site, just as you seeing an advertisement on some random site. Also, they are alrdy in touch with us, we see all the news through the game launcher
