Once something gets in my sights I'm not through with it untill it's solved. I was rallying against the hackings long before I myself got hacked, and that only made me more focussed. Following is a post I submitted on the official Nexon Forums, as a Nexon response there takes about 12 hours, and a ticket takes about 12 weeks. Well, it occurred to me the other day that I have been frequently and openly bashing Nexon due to thier failures based on the recent account compromises. I've whipped up emotional storms, led mass ticketings, seeded heated arguments, and just generally raised hell. None of that seemed to work. Well Nexon, here now, I am going to lay out the groundwork for a "Account Recovery" plan, where those that have been victimized of these compromises can recover what is rightfully thiers. Without further ado: Step 1: Create an official announcement, asking all players victimized by account compromises to submit a ticket in a specific section, possibly one created just for this purpose. Step 2: After acquiring the Nexon ID of a user claiming to be hacked, go into the game logs, and record the date at which point most, if not all of the users items and mesos were transferred to another character, with little to nothing traded in return. Also record the IGN of the character that recieved these items and mesos. Let this IGN be "The Hacker" Step 3: Locate the IP Adress of "The Hacker" and locate all character IGNs that have been used with this IP Adress. Record this information. Step 4: Move to a new ticket, repeating steps 2 & 3. Slowly you will begin to build up a database of IP Adresses, and IGNs related to mass-hackings. Step 5: Cross reference your IP/IGN Database with your tickets. Match up each "hacked" user with the IP Adress/IGN of thier "Hacker" Step 6: If an IP adress or an IGN of a supposed "hacker" appears related to 5 or more "hacked" tickets submitted, record the Nexon IDs of the victims, and permentatley ban all IGNs/NexonIDs/IP Adresses related to "the hacker" Step 7: Using the Nexon IDs acquired in Step 6, and the appropriate "hacking" dates acquired in Step 2, rollback all characters on the Nexon ID in question to the last character-info save prior to the "hacking date" What does this acomplish? People that have been hacked now have a way to retrieve thier items, in a system that is much more difficult to scam than "submit a ticket and we'll give your stuff back." While the base issue isn't adressed, this allows the devestation of the hackings to be reduced, and allows the victims to continue with thier mapling. It also allows Nexon to create an IP Adress database of those guilty in this scandal, a

Lolwut? You reckon nexon will do anything like that? They're too dumb and ignorant to think of anything like that. And the tickets... Well we all know what replies they'll send us. It's a good thought though.

The only problem I have with this system is that most of these hacked items have already been sold to other players (hackers mostly just hack the items, sell them and sell the mesos for real life cash), meaning that if the hacked player gets his items back, duplicate godly items will form. This will lead to an increase of godly items on the market, permanently affecting the economy.

[/quote] Your method is not going to work. -IP -character rollback -amount of work and everyone who got hack saying how much x amount of things they lost, won't get it back. I don't want to go into detail but it's not going to work.

Meso Bags = one giant economy wrecking crapsack.

here's a potential problem.... 1) get your friend to make a MS account 2) transfer all your items to them 3) file ticket saying you got hacked 4) get your items replaced 5) tell your friend to give you back your items 6) double what you originally had.

[/quote] I do agree with you on that point, the only problem being that any Mapler who informs himself even the tiniest bit, will know that even MTS (not even talking about meso selling websites) will convert their NX into more mesos than those bags. I do understand your point however, but this rollback will probably create such a big impulse of these items in the economy that it will drastically change the economy. Not that I'm not for cheaper godly items, scrolls, etc. In fact, anyone who's trying to get started has such a hard time gaining mesos, it's not even funny anymore.

[/quote] Hecne why you must have at least 5 accounts of hacking originating from one single IP adress before a rollback ensues.
