Do i need to complete this Flint gathering quest? or is it optional and i just get the kill the boss quest at 20? my Cleric didnt have to gather anything with aa 2% drop rate to get the hat for mages

Cleric =/= Thief... And if you want to get the hat, or gain access to Astaroth's dungeon, you either need to get the flint or get a Gas Mask, go into the Astaroth Dungeon, and kill Valefor in the strolling path. I don't even know if the latter works.

Just get the flints on a different character...Go to The Tree That Grew 3 and it takes no more than 5 minutes

2% drop rate? wow didn't know it was that low o.0 explains why getting all the flints took me over a hour once i started the quest

I would really wish Nexon would increase the drop rate or something. O_O

Flints dropped about every 5 mins for me average on normal drop. Tree that Grew III is the best map. I tried the only-thieves-get-crappy-flint-drop-rate theory... drop rate seems to be same for all classes.

Step 2: Just do the job quests for your class. All adventurer classes can do it. Step 3: Kill the boss, get the 12stat hat from your instructor. Step 4: Continue on with the quests and get a Gas Mask so you have access to the Astaroth PQ.
