Welcome all speed cubers from BasilMarket. The aim of this thread is to see whether Basil's community contains speed cubers other than me. If you aren't a speed cuber, then you're still welcomed! It's much better if you're a cuber. And even if you're not a cuber, talk about what you know about solving a Rubik's Cube or the HARDNESS that you've felt when playing with a cube. Talk about cubing and the difficulties you've met along the way, and post your fastest timing here. Mine is 39 seconds, and I use F2L, OLL and PLL method for 3x3. I started cubing last year. And my previous record before learning F2L, OLL and PLL, is 49 seconds (BEGINNER'S METHOD). I had a hard time remembering OLL and PPL, but when I was a beginner, it was way tougher. To learn how to solve a Rubik's Cube or learn F2L, OLL and PLL, use this website: www.cubewhiz.com/

pieman202 : I find the way people go about solving the rubik's cube all wrong nowadays. go look on youtube, just look it up on the internet. instead of it being a test of smarts it is now a test of seeing if you can use google. I agree with this. Before it took logic and talent to complete a Rubik's Cube, but now any competent person can youtube it and learn it. No-one is unique these days, we're all common robots on an assembly line, programmed to follow trends in society and no individuality..

Seems like hardly any basilers are interested in Speed Cubing.

I was thinking of trying to learn it a few days ago. The algorithms are hell to remember though.

My record is 49 seconds, but i really have no idea of the methods and all that. An average solve is like 60-70 sec for me. I learned it completely by myself tho. Ive solved up to a 5x5 without ever using a help video. I'm very proud of it.
