How to fix xbox 360 red ring of death?

Well mine just recently got a RRoD...and its bs lol but how do i fix it without sending it in? Yes i have warranty but i don't want to wait 2 months. So my choices are fix itmyself, go to super geeks (unsure if they'll fix it ) or sell all my 360 items and buy a ps3. Someone help pls? D:

it only took me two weeks to get it back i sent in 2 one was my brothers one mine but my brothers came in 2 days after.

Yeah, go ahead and try to fix it. How RROD mostly works. On power up the xbox 360 starts the video card to show the animation and video, kind of like how the BIOS in a PC loads everything up, one of the last devices that is powered on and loaded is the video card (if not integrated on the mobo). This explains why there is a 4-8 second delay between power on and RRoD. IT IS NOT A MOTHERBOARD ISSUE! If it was you would get a RRoD within 1/2 second of power on from cold boot. It does however take 1 second after power on only if you just had an RRoD within an hour. So it's pretty obvious by now that there is a chip on the video card that is causing the RRoD's. Once it initially fails on loading a game, it keeps failing until the console is off for about an hour, ample time for the chip to cool off. The RRoD is not directly related to the current temp of the box, unless the last freeze occurred within 60 minutes. However, heat could have damaged the part, and/or cooling of that part. So the chip that is causing the RRoD is damaged and rapidly overheats, which causes RRoD's until it cools down approx. 45-60 minutes later. This chip is directly related to gaming and only gets used/turned on when a game is loaded. I will be looking at the engineering specs of the 360's and try to identify this faulty chip. Then again this my conclusion after conducting the experiment. Don't get me wrong this is the most COMMON reason why RROD occurs not the only one. The chances of getting RROD by something else are as slow as the PS3. Conclusion? DON'T PUT YOUR XBOX ON A LITTLE TINY SPACE. Put it on an open space and for a bigger chance of survival put a fan behind the xbox.
