Is it even needed? I mean come on, who cares about what we did hundreds of years ago, it is already done and not going to change. The saying "Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it" is false, because even people who do know history repeat it anyways. Its not like some terrorist looks at how the Holocaust and Hitler ended and change his mind, hes going to do it anyways. It may be important to know some things in history, like the major things, but not everything that doesn't matter such as the Boston Tea Party (example) what does that have to do with present times... What they should really teach in school is Future Studies, things that are going to happen, and like suspected transportation and living styles of the future.

The way people lived before is not only a very interesting thing to learn but can help you understand how humans are where they are now, and what that means for the future. If you actually think that history is useless you are stupid. .

Its not like some terrorist looks at how the Holocaust and Hitler ended and change his mind, hes going to do it anyways. Sure he may do it anyways, but he learns from mistakes. By learning from history, he would know what not to do and try not to make the same mistakes as the previous person did.

To learn past mistakes and to honour to those who dies bravely. That's all I got.

"He who fails to learn from history, is doomed to repeat it." Edit: 1 reason to learn is to learn from past mistakes. Example: Dont make the same mistakes Hoover made during the Depression.
