DRK = Boring?

Well I'm officially bored of being a DRK. I don't see how people can continue on leveling when your doing the same thing from 70~200i? DRK is like an extension of DK with higher damage... Any ideas on how to be motivated to continue my DRK? Cause looking at the other characters you realize you're slow and non-ranged...

sounds like you're not meant to be a drk when i see other classes i just think of how NOT AS COOL they are when compared to us ~_~ iono son zerking is pretty cool or you could just make a sin and jump around shooting stars man that's so much fun ~_~

If you think that playing as a drk is the same as playing as a dk was... then your level is clearly shown correctly. Get to mid-13x and tell me again nothing's changed.

Alright Thanks for your help... I know it seems a bit whiny but I guess you're right... When becoming a DK from a spearman, there was a period of boredom and I guess same concept applies here.

It's just like any class transitioning to their upgrade. A pure spear dk doesn't REALLY feel like they've upgraded till 74ish, when Crusher outdamages Power Strike. Just takes a bit longer with a drk, because you have to get to the point that you can A) Have Beholder maxed, which should come first, and B) berserk reliably at all times, which requires a high level of berserk. Once you get to 130-133 or so, and start training with Berserk, you'll feel the difference between dk and drk.. drk is a much more challenging class to play, but far more rewarding than any other class I've tooled around with.

Cause looking at the other characters you realize you're slow and non-ranged... well, technically, you're not even a dark knight yet. you're still a dragon knight. wtih a level or two extra. a couple extra SP, and a name change. you dont' even officically become 4th job until you fully max your beholder, berserk, stance, and maple warrior. when you get those core skills maxed, only then will you start realizing the potential of your character. then at that point, you realize thers so many more things... such as the great benefits that the beholder's hex and heal provides, achilles, and most importantly of all, achieving a high level of rush. if you feel that early on, the class isnt' worth it, drop it. dont' keep going. cuz theres nothing that anyone can say or do to change your mind.

I found 4th job a lot more fun. Requires more strategy and timing etc. 3rd was just wait for a priest to lure then FURYFURYFURYFURYFURYFURYFURYFURY for hours upon end. With a DrK you're constantly thinking about your HP, the monsters around you, whether to rush the mob or not, when to use spear crusher or spear fury to your advantage, when to rush to dodge attacks, when to jump to dodge attacks and on and on. Until you leave himes and go to skeles, gobies, time temple, or whatever other spots you may train at you can't really get a full concept of the job. And even then it changes a lot as you max stance, Beholder's Aura, Rush, and other skills. I was bored out of my mind in low 12x I had a lot of fun going from like 127-133 training at various spots like Sharks and gobies and berserking When I maxed Berserk I had fun running around killing skeles, but I thought it was a terrible pot burn. When I maxed Beholder's Aura I barely used any pots at all since I now had enough HP to use a mix of Satays, and Ginseng roots as well. I was looking at around 70-100 pots per hour of training. Now at 16x I'm starting to kill skeles in one hit and I can solo train at time temple well now. As time goes on there are a lot of changes.

Eh I am struggling with my Drk as well, but I really need to level thats just it I assume, and its prolly also my equips.

I think DrK are much better than Heros At least you have to worry about HP for berserk And you're useful in parties for HB Heros have less things to worry about... All I'd have is apathetic killing with brandish and not looking at my HP if I continued to Hero So eh - I think you'll be fine as a DrK

I agree with Steve, you need some core skills maxed before you really begin to enjoy it. While I enjoy playing it, I'm often stuck solo, as most my old crowd (guild) have all quit or server changed. I don't much nowadays.
