Well the way i see it is... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ crit hit: (x2) (40%) (higher dmg) (1h kill maybe) spark: (3x1.2) (x3.6) (100%) (lot more range) (higher dps) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ most guides i see say to do crit first, but why, and which should i max first?

Crit hit, simple as that.
scorp989 09/09/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
seems like both are even, spark may have a little more edge

What's spark?
scorp989 09/09/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
its a 3rd job tb skill it does 120% and hits 3 enemys, along with an attack. so max sharkss hits 9 monsters (6 normal) its range is amazing it makes sharks almost full screen skill!

Well i got Crit hit, and i do awesome damage, imma max spark before i max barrage, but i should have enough points to max barrage before that 100 mark. So max Crit hit...

Sparks require MP for each move you use. Sparks is a buff, so you need to recast. Sparks only hit 3 monsters For Crit. It is passive, and if you do sharks, you get 40 % chance of hitting a monster, not 40% damage The damage for Crit is 100 % extra dmg.

Critical is a must. You can get Sparks after Critical and Shark Wave. Or depending if you wanna go early Sparks you can start mixing in Spark at level 21 Shark Wave.

Go sparks. It helps when you mob more than crit imo.

Yeah, I'm unfamiliar with the workings of sparks, but if it consistently puts extra damage on the same targets it's going to kill off part of the mob too quickly, lowering the DPS. Of course I need to get a better understanding in order to actually say which is better. Of course, I wouldn't want an extra 30 MP drained when you use attacks, especially drain and blast. At least not as long as I have a decent alternative to add into.

um idk what u guys are talking about, every time it attacks it doesent lower your mp... u just use mp to buff yourself... o.o
TehSniper 09/09/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
No, it uses an additional 30 MP each skill cast at maxed level. I'm 100% sure, having seen the proof on SP.
