Is it a vital skill? Becuase I would rather max hawk instead.. tell me what you think, and please share your sp build up to 120

ItsKrue : maxing hawk isnt a good move. You will use inferno ALOT more then you would use hawk. And hawk is only good for training at newts. After level 130 or so you wont even use hawk. Um wtf? Im not even a BM, and that still doesnt sound right.

nodiggity1 : Um no..I use hawk ALL THE TIME when I'm training. Inferno IMO is useless as a attacking move since arrow bomb is stronger and that there aren't any good fire weak monsters to effectively train on. have you heard of qualm guardians in the temple of time? as a fp mage i know whats weak to fire and those are excelent exp for a fire bowman

I think I never LOL'ed so much... First, you're lvl6x... so you don't know anything about 3rd~4th job training. Second, name some monsters that are fire weak and have a trainable map layout, with great possibilities for mobbing. Hmmm? None. Third, Hawk is way more usefull than Phoenix, (since you'll most likely keep Phoenix at lvl1 until 160+ or even 170+ anyway). Phoenix barely adds to your DPS, while Hawk can save your life. Fourth, Bomb Arrow has been nerfed so the first hit does pretty much the same amount of dmg than the others, making it stronger. Inferno would only beat BA on Fire Weak monsters, but like I said, name a map with mob-able frie weak monsters for efficient training after 3rd job? And even if they eventually release one, there's already tons of excellent maps to train at. If you find any arguments that would make Maxing Inferno over Hawk a possibilitie, please state them cause I really see absolutely no reason to even put more than 1 point in Inferno. |

The ice ones aren't weak to fire? Well less reason to get inferno.

I have both Maxed, never regreted maxing hawk, still use it 90% of the time. Inferno I maxed before the dammage calculations changed, and I probably would not make the same choice now. But I do prefer it slightly to bomb, since the stun of bomb can interfere with my training.

Now that I know how to properly distribute my SP in 3rd job, what comes next in 4th as far as SP. I could just look at a guide but I like personal opinions more. >.>

4th Job? Arrow bomb is still better. Use inferno to gather them, then AB the hell out of them. Inferno = worthless.

You can max both inferno and silver hawk. Leave mortal blow at lv 5 just for arrow rain. I dont see a point in maxing mortal blow since its a short range skill and you wont even use it, inferno at least is a cool skill and might be of some use. My build at 3rd job: Strafe MAX Arrow rain MAX Inferno MAX Puppet MAX Mortal Blow 5 Thrust 6

I'd say leave Inferno at one, do other things first, and if you have points left over just dump it into that

I'm so glad i get frostprey in 4th job back to your situation, i have heard from many 4th jobs that they serverly regret not getting max MB and level 28 eagle is sufficent. I have also heard from many a ranger that inferno is useless, so i would leave it at 1 because i doubt they will change the dmg on it again in the near future. So as a Ranger if you leave your inferno at 1 you should have enough SP to max everything else

Well sweetie, lvl 1 inferno should suffice. To me it is only effective at luring. I'd rather just max thrust.
