| I was bored, so I went to browse some good music on Youtube. I was half-way though Lupe Fiaso's - Superstar. Then i spotted this comment( Inclusive of Grammar edits.): "Lupe fiasco wow....doesn't he know music is haram in Islam? Freakinnn hypocrite " Obviously I did not know what was "Harram". But i certain that i got the meaning of "Hypocrite" and "Islam." correct. So i did the next obvious thing to do. Google it. Or Wikipedia. Whatever. "Haraam (often Haram) is an Arabic term meaning "forbidden". In Islam it is used to refer to anything that is prohibited by the faith. Its antonym is halaal." - Wikipedia. I was...shocked. I seen my Muslim friends hearing Music, blasting U2's - Elevation on MY headset. So I research on what was the definition of music as well. Music - 1.) An artistic form of auditory communication incorporating instrumental or vocal tones in a structured and continuous manner 2.) Any agreeable (pleasing and harmonious) sounds; "he fell asleep to the music of the wind chimes" 3.) Musical activity (singing or whistling etc.); "his music was his central interest" 4.) (music) The sounds produced by singers or musical instruments (or reproductions of such sounds) So, my question is, Musilms are not suppose to hear music at all? Seriously? I know they Fast and everything, but music? No way... |
