Is avoiding Feedback fair?

So, this guy puts up an auction for a 37 attack, unhammered Maple Kandayo, for a starting price of 50m and an autowin of 70m. So I bid on it. The auction was supposed to end at around 18:00 BT, but I check my auctions and I notice the auction is gone. I message the guy, naturally asking why he took the item off. He said he sold it for a higher price than what I bid, not through Basil, I'm assuming, because I didn't get any notices about someone bidding higher than me. Is this fair? Is this even following the rules? I think that this guy should have just let the auction end, without taking it off, and then tell me that he sold it. So I could leave accurate Feedback, which would involve saying that the guy already sold it. Because isn't it an obligation to hold an item put on Basil until the auction is over? Or even if you do sell it, to let the auction run out and let the winner provide accurate Feedback? Am I wrong in this, or is he wrong?

uhm, did you win the auction? He has the right to take it down anytime he please, unless the auction is over then he has to hold it.

Well it's his choice, seeing that the auction hasn't ended yet, it's his item and he has the right to remove it for whatever reason of his . Let's say it like this, someone in the market is selling an item and you seem to like it and is interested, but he decides not to sell it before you could buy it .

If you didn't win the auction then its fair if he wants to take it down. If you actually won the auction then you should have rightfully gotten the item

Why would Mr. Basil have a cancel button for auctions if he didn't expect us to change our minds. Common sense. Pretend you put up an auction for a cape for int 30% and someone bids on it. There is two days left and you bought a cape that has 6int 1slot and you decided to use the scroll you auctioned. What would you have said if you couldn't cancel the auction? 'MY BAD I used it, sorry?" Oh yes and then the person would give you a negative feedback, great job thinking this out.

He technically has every right to delete the auction whenever he wants, or else Mr. B wouldn't have put the function there.

Unless you win it definitively, then he can do whatever he wants with the auction. That's why there is a delete option on all your current auctions. I've sold many items like this guy has. Its how the system works.

They are not really avoiding feedback o.o at least in ur situation someone told you they sold it to someone else. I remember biding and winning an auction and when i found the seller, someone pretended to be me and bought it as the exact price that i won it for. so i won the auction but never got my item...>_>

You know what I don't like? When you win an auction, and the seller says "its in my shop come buy it AFK." Then you go there, the item is a higher price than what you won it for, and he's in room 1~6 in channel 1. It's happened to me two or three times before.
