Item Lock Glitch?

So you've probably seen the other thread in which someone's items are expiring from item lock. I was about to lock one of my items and was wondering if this glitch always happens (where the items expire). Thanks. If you don't know for sure, don't vote.

Yeah as soon as you put the lock, on the item i think it will expire soon.

Happens whenever. Don`t do it until the glitch is over . . . if you`ve already bought it , GL getting a refund.

I think it's only after you send a ticket and ask a GM to 'remove' the lock before the expiration date.

can someone tell me what item lock does? Does it just make it so that the item cant be moved or anything, incase of getting hacked?

from what i got from that thread it only applies if you use a temporary item lock and then take it off... i think it then makes a expiration date appear on the item which may or may not be a visual glitch...

Item lock prevents dropping or trading.

I was reading the thread on the actual MapleStory forums that someone created talking about their items. He/She stated they had the lock on the items and had sent a mail asking for them to be unlocked. A friend had told him about doing the same thing but when they took the locks off his/her overall had an expiration date. The person who created the thread then tried to send another mail asking to not have his items unlocked but they didn't get the mail in time and the removed the locks, thus his items also now having an expiration date. o_e

DrunkSheep is correct. It is only when you ask for an item to be unlocked before it should be. Nexon is not unlocking any items before they should be until the glitch is fixed however. The first victim was Harrisonized who lost his 24/3 Black Oriental Fury Coat, and got 6.6k nx and a clean average fury coat as a pitiful compensation.
