K, so I'm learning how to scream. So far, I got the basics for inhale screaming down. I can growl pretty well while inhaling, but I can't really go high. Now I'm trying to learn exhale screaming. Some people say it's the same as inhale screaming, but you're releasing air from your lungs instead. Is this true? Also, what are some techniques/tips to practice? Thanks guise :0 PS - Since this is Basil, probably no one will know what I'm talking about. >_>

Wow... A scream is a high pitched shriek, and makes your head hurt. Keep that in mind to see if you're doing it right.

KoKillmufuzzles22 : Well, my growls sound pretty decent while inhaling o_o. I screamed pretty high last night, but I can't even manage to go that high anymore. When I was practicing exhale screaming, my throat started hurting a little so I stopped. I didn't know thats normal o_o trust me, no one will respect you if all you do is inhale. lol. and if you get your exhales down, i guarantee they'll sound better. just keep practicing, and if your throat hurts a little bit, its okay. but if you start realizing that the pressure is being focused on your throat, you're doing something wrong.

fuzzles22 : Well, I push with my diaphragm and my throat doesn't really move o_o. I don't see how it could screw my vocal chords if I don't even feel it in my throat. The only feeling I get in my chest is like when you're about to burp, but that's it Ok well if it ever makes your throat hurt, stop instantly

Well, I'm basically just learning inhales since they're easier to do. Also, some growls sound amazing if they're inhaled. I know that exhaling sounds much better, but it's harder xD. People say to do the grudge sound (kinda), and try to get louder/higher. Is that true? Also, I don't really . understand what to do with my diaphragm. Just tighten it? @Above, at least I don't have a closet full of AE/Hollister/Abercrombie like 95% of America's/Canada's teenagers.

Why would you want to learn how to scream?

It's not the way growling goes.

I guess I'll experiment a bit then. Btw, this is the Grudge sound http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-Y82ifoTjs (youtube) @Above - My lows (inhaling) sound somewhat like 3:57 (youtube)

I've heard that you're supposed to hum down to the lowest note. That sound should sound kind of like a gutter noise. Then from there, start opening your mouth, try pronouncing words. When you have that down, scream like that.

Gutter noise = Grudge sound right? @above - Well if it sounds decent, then I don't see why it couldn't work o_o. And I'm pretty sure that's an inhale scream at 3:57

FirePengy : Doesn't make the previous statement any less true. Liking screamo/metal/rock music doesn't make a person a tool, moron. Whereas buying a crapload of stuff from AE to fit in with your classmates does. Learn the meaning of tool before you troll in my thread.
