Seriously. It doesn't matter who, I'm not trying to make anyone specifically a mod, but we need more. The guy "OldOnesReturns" has been running around for an hour at least, spamming male parts and swear words. Not a single mod is online? I'm not criticizing the mods- I know they have lives, they volunteer their time here, etc.- but wouldn't it be better to have more mods, just to increase the possibility that SOMEONE will be online?

PanickaThere are no current Basiler's who would make good mods. The current mods need to step up their activity though.

Mr. Basil has been searching for a new moderator. @ below They're pretty friendly when you're not attacking innocent users.

I hate mods, especially the current ones.

Honestly, I'd make a good mod, when you guys finally realize you need me. I'll say .. Yes.

Were you around at all last night? The outbreak with "Eat me" was much worse then this, as well as the 50+ Flame war of homosexuality because of Holy's post. The mods volunteer their time to mod the site, they try their best to keep Basil from destroying itself, but they can only do so much when they are living lives at the same time.

lol, I choose OldOnesReturn for the mod; we will get just about unlimited of freedom. Somehow since OldOnesReturn appeared, there are no flame at all, like none, even the religion flame threads have disappeared. you go oldonesreturn, lol.

One hour, of any one day. None of the moderators are on. You do know that's one hour out of 8760 that no moderators are on? Cut them some slack.

The problem is, you can't just make anyone a mod. And I for one would never take such a job seeing how badly people treat the ones who are already on the team. I hear that a few people have already turned the job down. And look how many have quit. It's just not a very fun thing to be, I suppose. It's not as easy as it sounds, and I doubt there are many users on this site who are up to dealing with stuff like that, honestly.

I just want to point out, that that is a complete cop-out. They take the position knowing full well what it means. If they can't handle it, they need to step down.

Well, first off, I admit I wasn't online last night. Second off, I realize that. I know the mods have lives outside of here. I'm not criticizing the quality of moderation- just the quantity.

Not really, the current moderators just need to be a little bit more active.

The thing is, we need something like the Maple Brigade Team. By giving a select couple of users certain powers, (time-outs) we can cut down the number of "annoying spammers". Of course, the main thing Basilmarket complains about is that there's no one "good" enough to be a moderator. I agree, it's a job that should be entrusted to a select few, but the mods are not online all the time. By spreading the power instead of centralizing it within mrbasil, 6 moderators (2 that are rarely on), and one Security man, Basilmarket can keep the amount of spam topics in check.

They can handle it, but they're not robots, they can't just sit down and make the site perfect, with unicorns hopping around and whatever. I'd really like to see you take up the role of moderator and be able to do a better job then them while also juggling real life with it at the same time.

Now this is an idea that I like.
