So recently I've been interested in the maker skill and decided to get it for my dawn warrior. (Level 62). I've been wondering, when you use the maker skill to create something (weapon armor etc) is it always average? Also, probably not the right section, but where's a good training spot for drop i can use for maker to make a red katana?

Windraiders are level 70.

Items created are average unless you use some gems that become "basic gems" or higher. Then when making the item make sure you put that gem with the maker skill window.

Items could turn out below average, average, or above average. If you use a simulator though, it removes the chance of it being below average, but there's a 10% chance it will fail. c: It's also faster just to dissemble equips level 61-70 rather than hunt for etc drops.

windraiders wont work for maker. Neither will MP3. Only monster in the monster book which are level 31+ (in this case 61-70) will work for it. I heard there is a chance for the item to be a little above or below avg (like if you got it as a drop)

I think you have it the other way around. 0.o I've use stimulators way back when the only person who took em was the guy inside the clock tower. Back then and I'm sure still now stimulators is like a chaos scroll without using a slot. They also have a 10% chance of destroying the item your making for taking the risk.
