| So earlier I made a thread about choosing an essay topic. That was like 3 hours ago and I am still in the first paragraph. And I dunno what to do now. I have nowhere else to go. Here it is, don't laugh at me because I suck at writing, I write like a baby. The legend of Bigfoot or the "sasquatch" is a myth that has been going on for hundreds of years, tracing its roots back to stories told by the native americans. But the question is, is Bigfoot real or a hoax? Allegedly, Bigfoot is an apelike creature said to roam mainly in the forests of the Pacific Northwest region of North America. =/ What do I do now.... I don't have any old essays I can check back to. And I don't know what type of essay I'm writing in the first place. =/ I know you aren't my personal army but pwease. Help an international student out. |

| Whenever I did essays, I did it in this fashion. -> Opening Paragraph (Stating three things, either for being something, or against.) -> 1st Paragraph (Opening, three supporting statements about one of the three statements said in the opening, closing) -> 2nd Paragraph (Same as first) -> 3rd (Same as first) - >Closing, thus ending the essay, restating the three statements from the opening paragraph. I always got a good mark with this way of essay writing. |

| XtremeClax : Ok, so what do I write =/ I honestly do not know how to close this paragraph. Well first you need your outline - something like this: a. Intro paragraph b. Body paragraph 1 - Evidence supporting Bigfoot's existence c. Body paragraph 2 - Evidence disproving Bigfoot's existence d. Conclusion The last sentence of your intro is your thesis. You're going to need to come up with a firm statement that summarizes your whole argument. Ex. (this is a REALLY crappy one, but hey) Evidence supporting the existence of Bigfoot includes ________________, yet at the same time the theory is largely disproved by ___________________. |

Ok thanx, that outline is actually the way I do my essays. But I need like a rubric because I suck at opening and closing paragraphs. The body is really easy to do because it's just information. =/ |
