I have around $200-$500 in funding for my NightWalker (as in I can spend that much on NX to get money). Will I be able to fund a strong Nightwalker? Or should I give up? All help is appreciated. :P No flaming please =/

Not that much worth that amount of money on a character that can be 120 within 3 weeks... But if you really want an answer on your question anyway: Yes, $200~$500 is enough to fund a strong NW.

Superalmightyon : If you stop grinding, merchanting or caring about friends, THEN the game starts being fun? Too bad those 3 things are the ONLY things to do in the game. Quests aren't even worth doing, I don't even think anybody reads the text. There are no major minigames (nobody plays the 2 crap ones we have) that are fun. PQs are intended to be fun, and I can see how dojo or CPQ can be fun the first couple times. Too bad they end up being repetitive like everything else in MS, just people grinding for a reward or for exp. The towns are a joke. There's nothing unique about any of the towns. They are all essentially the same, esp with nexon making everything (FM, CPQ, dojo pq) accessible from most of the major towns. The only thing I care about in any town is the potion shop. Bossing? Like I said, just spamming and potting. You can't even really kill any of the major bosses unless you have godly equips (brings us back to merchanting and buying NX), or are part of a huge group/guild who all have godly equips. You can't just play MS for fun anymore, because for everything, you need money, and you can only get money from merchanting or buying NX. You can't even just say "i'm gonna hunt for a red katana and then some sword scrolls and make my own weapon! take that superalmightyon!" because 1.) that'll take you about a month of hunting monsters to get, and 2.) you'll end up with a crap weapon or you'll blow it up. That's just your opinion, personally I still have fun playing Maple.

Yeah, it is just my opinion. I know many people still have fun in MS. But think about it objectively, what are you doing in MS all the time? 1) grinding, 2) merchanting 3) talking to friends. Content is really lacking (i don't mean 'new NX item' or 'new training spot' content, I mean unique, fun, creative new stuff to do) in MS.

It's your money, but if I were you, I wouldn't spend any NX on the char at all. Just do work to make mesos, like killing leprechauns or something. Or do quests. You really don't need to spend NX on characters. Keep in mind, you have $500 to do whatever you want with. I would say buy something worthwhile.

$500 on a virtual character is just pointless. Try messos, you'll go a lot farther with them.

I used to play RS and say what you will about it, but I had a lot more fun with it than MS. It's mainly because the game was accessible to everyone, and you didn't have to pay loads of real money to get anything (other than the membership fee). I can make a new char in runescape, starting with nothing, and make enough money via skills and drops to have fun in the game. In MS? You wouldn't even have enough money for potions if you tried that. Quests in RS give worthwhile rewards, such as exp, access to certain places or weapons. And there's tons of content that is actually fun. It's a more immersive world. New content in maplestory consists of just a new training spot. every MMORPG's main point is just about leveling even runescape you level a skill and thats it. The quests im Maplesotry worthwile rewards most quests give exp some give you a weapon for your job and the time temple quests let you access deeper in the temple |

A quest that takes hours to complete and gives XP equal to 10 minutes of grinding is worthwhile? Sure RS involves leveling (as is every other MMORPG). But it's not about that, it's about what else there is to do. There's so much I can do in RS with the skills. It's not just about seeing a number go up, saying 'yay i leveled' and doing the same thing over again until you're at max level. You can use those skills and make money with them, use them in quests, access areas, etc etc. You can't say a bad FPS game and a good FPS game are the same thingl just because "they all involve shooting people".

Superalmightyon : If you stop grinding, merchanting or caring about friends, THEN the game starts being fun? Too bad those 3 things are the ONLY things to do in the game. What is there to do in Runescape? Training a Repetitive Skill, Grinding for Money for Hours, or PvPing? Quests aren't even worth doing, I don't even think anybody reads the text. There are no major minigames (nobody plays the 2 crap ones we have) that are fun. PQs are intended to be fun, and I can see how dojo or CPQ can be fun the first couple times. Too bad they end up being repetitive like everything else in MS, just people grinding for a reward or for exp. I read the text, FOR FUN! If all you care about is doing something "worth doing", then all you would do in RuneScape is Woodcut all day and train attacking skills. PQs can be dull sometimes, but that's why you can choose whether to do it or not! Most of them are great fun! Everything in Runescape becomes SO MUCH MORE repetitive, even its quite good PvP. The towns are a joke. There's nothing unique about any of the towns. They have different themes, quests, and storylines, not to mention PQs and monsters. They are all essentially the same, esp with nexon making everything (FM, CPQ, dojo pq) accessible from most of the major towns. If it wasn't, it would be a HUGE pain. They even change the look of the FM entrance in every town to fit the theme anyway... The only thing I care about in any town is the potion shop. That is your loss. Bossing? Like I said, just spamming and potting. You can't even really kill any of the major bosses unless you have godly equips (brings us back to merchanting and buying NX), or are part of a huge group/guild who all have godly equips. You don't need godly equips for bossing at all.....At least there ARE bosses, something which RS severely lacks. The only REAL boss is the Green Dragon, whom you can only kill one time......The other Quest-related bosses are jokes. You can't just play MS for fun anymore, because for everything, you need money, and you can only get money from merchanting or buying NX. I never bought NX and never merchant, yet I have a net worth of over 250m. You can't even just say "i'm gonna hunt for a red katana and then some sword scrolls and make my own weapon! take that superalmightyon!" because 1.) that'll take you about a month of hunting monsters to get, and 2.) you'll end up with a crap weapon or you'll blow it up. You go make money by Boss hunting, or PQing, or Merchanting, and BUY the stuff. Scrolling is great fun too. I used to play RS and say what you will about it, but I had a lot more fun with it than MS. It's mainly because the game was accessible to everyone, and you didn't have to pay loads of real money to get anything (other than the membership fee) I agree with this, but FREE MS consists of everything NXers get. We just have the game on "Hard" mode. Free RS gets SO dull, small, and boring.... . I can make a new char in runescape, starting with nothing, and make
