I want a unique job that's cheap and can get into boss runs easily. I have a level 78 dexless chief bandit but I'm getting slightly bored of it after playing it + another level 75 normal dex bandit for a year. So are gunslingers worth it?

AngelxHoly : Burst fire is the same as double shot, just upgraded.... Recoil + wings is USUALLY a macro, so we'll say that's 1 skill. Octo is mainly for sniping, e.g newties, so it's not really counted as a skill if you don't use it half the time. I don't think people even USE gaviota, mainly just put points in for air strke. Invisible is overridden by ice spitter and flamethrower. Nobody USES grenade at all, except maybe 1 point in it for "fun". Blank is nullified once you get ice spitter. Flame thrower and ice spitter are your main attacking skills in 3rd job anyway. Dash doesnt require a hotkey anyway, just double-tap it, so thats not exactly a hastle. Overall, you'll only really use (once youre mid 3rd job or higher): Flamethrower Ice spitter Doubleshot/burst fire Dash (which is basic movement for you anyway) Recoil + wings for mobility And octo for newtie sniping. Once you're 4th job, you get your battleship, which introduces torpedo and cannon. You'll use it most of the time, and rapidfire will replace burst fire. Still using dash, and wings+recoil. Still using FF and IS That's basically it. @TS - Go to the henesys game center with maxed wings and recoil, go to the VERY TOP of the center. Then have the skills macro'd - Recoil+wings, that itself brings insane fun (for me it does) -Burst Fire is quite different from Double Shot. You'd know that if you tried it. -I don't use the Wings+Recoil macro as much. I use them seperately a whole lot more. So yes, they do count as variety, especially when I'm training. -Octopus does count as a skill if you're constantly using it to kill faster. What are you smoking? -I agree that Gaviota does suck, but people will argue its useful for some reason. -Blank Shot definitely doesn't get nullified when you get Ice Splitter. Not everything can be frozen and sometimes if I miss a Ice Splitter, I'd quickly use Blank Shot instead of waiting for Ice Splitter's delay to end. -Ice Splitter and Flame Thrower rarely get's counted as your main attack because people don't really take that build. Burst Fire is the main attack during 3rd Job. -There are some weird Corsairs out there who have trouble using Dash. I think its as easier than getting use to Battleship, but they do put Dash on a key. Not everyone is in a hurry to add a buttload of points to Rapid Fire for it to become useful because there are better choices. Most don't even get it til 14x. I wouldnt' get it til 16x.

Gunslingers are weak at first. But if you reach 3rd or 4th job advancement, they are devastatingly powerful.

ok one: dont listen to any of these people. cuz their opinions are all buyist. corsairs are good if you dont mind going through, dare i say, 120 lvls of boring skills. outlaws arent all that bad however. we do do some pretty good damage, you can compare ti to DKs for the 7x's. and gunslingers arent that hard to lvl once you know where to train. if your looking into the pirate class, and no others then you might be looking into brawlers as well. they get all the flashy skills at 2nd job. and they get more powerful over time. corsairs however prety much abandon our 2nd job skills. because we have way better 4th job skills. summary: corsairs are great, awesome bossers, if you have nay- sayers then send them to any high level corsair and they will convince them other wise. and all- in- all are worth the trouble of 2nd and 3rd job.

OT: Getting into boss runs depends on your connections. I have seen f/p archmages in zakum because they know the host. Corsairs can do some of the highest damage if you know how to use them. Damage is dependent on equips though. |

Corsairs aren't going to get into boss runs as easily as you think. In the actual game it doesn't work like how you guys seem to think it works, IE: Hmmm, we have a choice of a few different classes and ZOMG corsair HIGH DMG PICK THAT ONE No, doesn't happen. People with HB, heal, SE, alchemist etc will get into parties much more easily than a corsair. With a corsair all you've got to go on is your damage, so if you're less funded or a lower level then judging purely by your stat'o merits, you're out. A bow master can offer SE on top of everything else, and those boss runners love SE :O Then there's the problem of ship control, lag which can really screw you over when you have to protect a ship and all of that. On top of that, friends get you into boss parties much more often than your class will, but having a necessary party skill will make you much more sought after than simply having high damage.
