Hello, everyone. I discovered myself a memorization problem recently. I could hardly memorize things in most situation Lets say I am trying to remember a word "suave", it means something that is agreeable and gracious in manner. I have just done an experiment about how does memorization work for me: I wrote and repeated the word 10 times straight down. Then I told myself to do something else for 10mins, After I got back and try to remember what the word means, I forgot! Which means "repetition method won't work for me. But later on I found a way that always help me to remember: I peeked the first few part of the definition of the word suave, it says:"something that is agreeable....", then I instantly remember the rest part of the sentence, which is "and gracious in manner." Thats weird, I can remember almost everything if someone or something that gives me certain implies or hints. Do you think this is true or do you have any other memorizing way to suggest? I will appreciate that!

Well, when I memorize my vocab, I just scan through the page. Second time I test myself to see if I remembered any. Eliminate. Move on.

The best way to memorize things is said to be by reading it as a whole. In your case, the meaning of it.

Try to memorize a sentence by just looking over it once and peeking at the first part. See if you remember the rest.

wilber : Yea, I agree, but can you be more specific? Ahem. I'll try xS When you are going to memorize something, for example, a short text, the best way is not to read it over and over again. You're best off reading it slowly and thorougly, trying to understand what it is about, finding the significance of the content. Sorry if it's a bit hard to understand, I'm not used to explaining it in English x3
