| Write a narrative piece in which an individual challenges the preconceived ideas of others around him or her. S.M.D (extract) I hoped onto the bus after school. Same old bus, nothing special. I took a seat two rows from the back door on the left. The bus was empty again, only a young couple towards the front holding hands with the girl's head leaning on the guy's shoulder. How romantic. I've been waiting for that special person my whole life. I yearn for love each night before I sleep. If only my wish came true... There were also two business men sitting at the back of the bus with their neat, well-fitted suits. I started to tilt my head towards the window and observe the same old buildings I pass on the way home every day for the last few years. Suddenly the bus stopped at an unusual bus stop, the bus has never stopped at this for stop from all my past experiences. What was wrong? Did the bus break down? I stared into the rear view mirror at the front of the bus to stare into the bus driver's light blue eyes in confusion whilst he looked down to press the 'Open Door' button. A young, attractive girl walked onto the bus slowly as everyone stared at her. 'A ticket to the city please.' The girl said with the sweetest voice possible. She grabbed the ticket and walked towards me. Our eyes were locked on each other. I tried my hardest not to stare at her but my eyes were fixed like cement. She caught me staring at her, so I moved my upper lip upwards and lower lips downwards attempting to smile. She sat down on the seat across the aisle from me. I dropped my head down to assure myself that my uniform was perfectly presented. I moved my right hand towards my tie and subtly adjusted the red, cottony scarf around my neck. Next thing to do was to readjust my hair. I moved my right hand towards my forehead and pretended to scratch it with the purpose to push my long, thin fringe towards the side. I was now ready to take on the girl. I glanced towards the right and caught her staring at me. She smiled politely at me but I shot my head back in the direction at the front of the bus. I wanted to talk to her, but an inner force was stopping me. The distance between us seemed so far but it felt like we had a connection. I didn't want to bus to reach the final destination yet. I waited for her to get out of her seat and sit next to me. I waited and waited. But she never moved out of her seat. She stared at me constantly. I could tell me wanted me but she's not making her move. After 15 minutes of waiting she finally stood up. She walked out her seat and stood next to me. I face started to turn red like I just painted myself. I was really nervous as I was expecting words to come out of her mouth. Her hand reached upwards for the bell. 'Ding' Is she getting off the bus already? She looked back down towards with my and smiled once more. That smile i will never forget, lips opened wide and shower her upper teeth.
