Evolution is based on the theory of natural selection, where a characteristic that is beneficial to the species will mean it has a higher chance of being passed on to future generations. This is fine for large animals that we see today, but the problem comes when you take it to the microscopic level. Bacteria exist like a machine with multiple parts that must all be present in order for it to function. If a car missed a steering wheel it would not work, likewise if a PC missed a monitor it would not work. Now Darwin claimed that life evolved from single celled orgamisms. In order to evolve to even the simplest bacteria at least 10 different criteria must be obtained. Because evolution happens gradually, if one of the parts required for the bacteria has been mutated, it would not prove beneficial in anyway to the cell on its own, so it would not pass down to generations. This means unless the cell changed instantly into a bacteria, evolution cannot happen. Darwin himself even quoted in his book 'The Origin Of Species'. If a complex species was found that could not be evolved over time, then my theory would be incorrect. Of course in Darwin's time, very little was known about bacteria. To conclude, evolution is not the only reason why there is so much variety on Earth.

Science is amazing, and if you don't agree with it, you can go ahead and remain in your dark, backwards world. That is all. Also, I think the experts know a *bit* more about evolution than you.

This is science, you think I made up this myself. This was discovered by many of the leading scientists in the world.

Humanmango : You seem to have an almost religious devotion to science. That is all. If you mean, I agree with it completely, then yes. Little things in science or new discoveries or new theories are debatable, that's what science is all about. But large laws and facts being called false without any substantial proof otherwise, or using "proof" based upon religious sayings and teachings which can't be argued against is something I do not support. @OP- Changes can occur gradually, meaning that whatever you're talking about does not have to develop instantaneously, and other steps might have been involved in between. Evolution IS the only reason why there is so much variety on Earth.

RocNation, agree all theories must be backed witih evidence. However you mistake in thinking just because a big theory has been approved of manys years ago, does not mean it cannot be disproved again as science develops and increases in accuracy. Currently evolution is being taught as a fact whereas there is no certain proof it exists. No-one has seen it occur therefore it is still a theory.

glad to see you dont really understand. heres an analogy for you. When you build an arch, you have to support all the blocks as you build it.But once you place the final block, the block on the very top of the arch, called the keystone, the entire arch can support itself, and the supports required to build it can be removed. Now you have a construction, in which every single piece is essential. Remove one, and the whole thing falls. Yet it is obviously there, you just built it. In other words, just because now, one part relies on another, does not mean that was always the case. Further, the theory of evolution isn't exactly the survival of the fitest. Its more of the survival of the one who best responds to change. They sound similar, but there are differences. Anyway, I doubt your going to bother changing your mind, so I'm going to leave it at that for now.

Look at it this way, the earth is 4.5 to 4.6 billion years old, that means it has lots of time for a coincidence to set in. A car without a steering wheel will work, but it will eventually break because it is running into things. So in analogy sense, an organism was to be missing something as important as a brain, it will eventually die off, but there are a select few who adapt and change accordingly to what it needs to survive. So in another million years or so, there will be a breed of that species that is completely perfect, because it has adapted so well to its environment and in the process, some batches of the animal might mutate, and the cycle happens once more. Let it take a few million years or so, you will get many species, that have adapted to its living environment. Same goes with your PC analogy, a PC WILL work without a monitor, you just can't see it but give it sometime and the owner will buy a monitor specifically for it.
