Disconnecting While AFK in a Shop

I've noticed that the past few times I've set up a shop in the FM, I'd come back to my laptop screen looking like my shop is fine and still set up. However, when I hit "Close Shop" to head over to storage or whatever it may be, I disconnect from MS. A more recent time has me setting up a shop in the same manner and going AFK. I come back to my screen in a few hours and, again, it APPEARS as if I'm still there with my shop up. However, I had my friend /find me on the game and it was unable to find, meaning I was actually not logged. Point being, I'm disconnecting after going AFK with a shop up after maybe an hour or so. Yes, I turn off all chats on my character as to avoid any spam that could potentially disconnect me. I don't think anyone would have disconnected me with their own program or anything (if it's even possible) as I was in a room with empty spots (CH1 FM15). No one would care to as far as I'm concerned. I've wondered if my connection being wireless has anything to do with it. The signal is pretty strong, though, and it's from my own router. Also, if this helps, my OS is Vista, and I have Sleep Mode turned off when my laptop sits idle. I don't have anything else running besides MS when I have a shop going. I've got 320 GB/7200 RPM on my HDD, and 4 GB of RAM, as well as a recent ATI graphics card, so I don't think my specs are an issue. If anyone could help/give suggestions on fixing this disconnection problem, it'd be appreciated.

Use a shop seller. Like those people who sell it for you. Those people that sell instead of you. (There are some in the cs). It is safer. Although I don't think people would auto d/c you, I think using a snowman or person who sells for you. Byebye

I am pretty sure its your wireless internet. Mine was like that too and I realized that the wireless sometimes cuts out for a second or two thats why it seems as though you haven't disconnected but in reality the server has already cut you off. Best solution is when you're looking to afk shop just either stick your laptop right beside the router or just hardwire in thats what I do.

Best solution is when you're looking to afk shop just either stick your laptop right beside the router or just hardwire in thats what I do. This is exactly what I was thinking as well. I think my potential solution would be trying an ethernet cord from my laptop to my router so I'm directly connected. I believe what you said about the wireless cutting the connection every now and then is true, as I experience that in gameplay at times. If this problem persists after attempting a hardwire in this manner, I'll make another thread, but thank you for the advice. As for others experiencing this same problem, if you have a wireless connection, try making it wired and setting up a shop. I hope it works for all of us... >.< |

did you press the button that said set up shop? like when you open the permit then putyour items in you have to press the button that says open shop (suggesting this because friend had his shop "open" for 3 days...)
