I always hated reserve prices. Why dont people just set the auction for what they want out of it. They act like they have some master plan, and if they set an auction for 2k and then have a reserve for 50 mil then 30 people will bid on it and be hooked to keep trying to out bid the other people. This never works and all the low bidders drop out, and it sells for a normal price. A lot of the time I think it doesnt sell because no one knows what the seller wants and doesnt want to spend 2 hrs trying to guess. What do you think about reserve prices?

I thought this was going to be about car auctions.

DarkWater : I thought this was going to be about car auctions. lol. Sorry to trick you like that. XD It just always annoys me when I want to buy something and I read, "reserve not met." I have started to just ignore those auctions now.

KazumI don't like reserve prices on eBay if that counts. I don't really use auctions here anymore.

No one uses basil auctions anymore. *tear* I hardly use forums anymore. lol. I still buy on basil but I dont often sell. The only things I sell would be hard to sell things that only a few people would want and that are still worth selling. When I have things that are easy to sell, like throwing stars or scrolls, I just look up their prices on basil and go and sell in fm. But yeah. I guess I just wanted to rant on how I dont like reserves for no real reason. Booo. Reserves. ^_^

Yea, I hate reserve prices....... if you price the auction low, and it doesn't sell for the price you want, deal with it.....

Eggzactly. Also another site complaint, I think that the items that are untradeable should say so next to their name. lol. I know this sounds kinda sill, but when the belts first came out, I had no idea if they had to be scissored or not. I would kinda like to know before I buy something. Most items dont apply, but there are a couple that some people might not know about and think are tradeable.

I agree and would also like to ask if you hate when people auto-win for less than the actual price they set. Pissed me off so much when I didn't have any feedback.

Yup it's pointless pretty much.
Etokapa 09/02/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
EtokapaI don't like them either. The only thing I could think they could be good for is to get an estimate of a price check for an item without asking the forum.

OniKakaHaka 09/02/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
Lol, this is biased, as anyone here every PUT UP a auction? OK E.G. You put up a 10 att wg for the starting bid of 2k. So you are not going to put a reserve price? Sure, ok. That's a big loss for you. The problem is Basil auctions doesn't have enough people on it, looking for deals. And if only one person bids on it, it means them = PROFIT w00t! and you = AHHHHHH? So that my opinion.

They're dumb. No point. Waste of time. Crap.

Pointless. EDIT: OniKakaHaka, what you do is you set the minimum price higher. Reserves are simply annoying.
