Just wondering if this answer is correct... It seems like I had too large numbers, but, I got a whole number (low too.) as my answer. 2/7(4x-18)=12 -Multiplies all by 7- 2(28x-126)=84 56x-252=84 -Adds 252 to both sides- 56x=336 -Divides by 56- x=6 Is this correct?

More like algebra 1.

I think x = 15.
chickenbutt 09/01/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
No. You don't multiply 4x-18 by 7.

Torchic : More like algebra 1. That doesn't help. It's the second day of school, we're doing simple review. @Above, okay, thanks. I had a terrible algebra 1 teacher, and had trouble all through it.

Lol wow can't figure this out? D;
changahoot 09/01/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
Nope because if you plug back in "x" then you get 0=12
CrownedSorrow 09/01/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
Umm I think you only distribute the 7 in the parenthesis.

chickenbutt : No. You don't multiply 4x-18 by 7. This.
Fade2BlacK 09/01/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
It's because you multiplied everything inside the parenthesis by 7, which in that case means you're multiplying that side by 49.

You don't multiply 4x-18 by 7. This is how it works. 2/7(4x-18)=12. So you can say (2/7)(4x-18)=12 And then through the Associative Axiom, you can say (7 x 2/7)(4x-18). So that would mean 2(4x-18)=84.

Fluffypwnz : Lol wow can't figure this out? D; XD. He's just making sure. OT: yeah it looks right. OTT: Algebra 2 is algebra 1, but it regoes its passed Algebra thingy's. So, they are just reviewing variables and such before getting into the harder shiet, such as imaginary numbers! Hooray

Okay. So sorry if I'm being terrible at algebra, I always have trouble with it. Never had trouble with Geometry, just algebra. I got x=25.5 now ._.

punkgx1 : this is algebra 1 -.- YES IT'S DAY 2 OF SCHOOL. We're not going to just JUMP right into algebra. Enough with the flames and rude remarks. I struggle with algebra. Jesus. And guys, even on the internet, rude comments hurt. Especially when you're simply asking for help on something that is hard for you.
