Why I'd rather be friends with a noob

Ok so today i got bored and created a new account which is completely unfunded. Figured I'd go around and play the generic noob but in my case with much better grammar/spelling. Just for fun. And because i have no mesos lol. So first off i spent about 30 minutes trying to find someone to tell me even where dark stumps were for a quest (I already knew duh...) I was asking around henesys on all channels and finally someone told me perion so off i went. After 3 heys to random walking people (all lvl 50+) some lvl 45 obviously unfunded page helped me out. Ok so he had a problem with the caps lock key and he couldnt spell to save his life but he "helped" me a lot more than any self absorded pro did. And believe me i spent 30 mins asking pros for help. The rudest person i met was someone who was saying RPQ and then when i asked very politely if i could play pq with her she started saying rpq lvl 15+ and continued to ignore me. http://img254.imageshack.us/img254/3218/maple0004r.jpg (imageshack) as you can see shes obviously funded with meso and NX. So that wraps up my first hour or so poking around ms as a noob. and as a conclusion id really much rather play with a bunch of nice noobs than a bunch of rude pros. Obviously this applies to maples community which =/= basils community. As basil generally consists of high lvl people who are usually nice. But seriously how many of you would have helped me out? Be honest lol. Personally I always try to help random noobs with quests when they ask me too and whatnot. And i was curious to see what portion of basil does seeing as a large portion of maples community doesn't. I mean really this is why maple is rated with one of the worst communities by pretty much everyone. I don't think anyone can argue against that statement.

I read the whole thing, and you are completely right. We need to put down the selfishness and help everyone out. Just because someone is level 150 doesn't mean they should ignore people who need help. I mean, sure, most people have it in their head "This is an Online Community, I don't give a crap about anyone else as long as I am doing well." But that kind of thinking really leads to the bad outside of an online society as well. Thanks for posting this thread by the way, very...inspiring.

whoah202 : I read the whole thing. The only thing I have to say is that buddying "noobs" helps them a lot but it become irksome after awhile. They will only and always ask for help. Eventually they result to begging, messaging, and spamming my Blist so I don't bother anymore. They expect you to walk them through the game which is not what maple is about. I learned and explored maple on my own and occasionaly ran into people my OWN lvl that were nice and had a similar problem. PQ's were the best ways to make buddies but with competetive pq's like CPQ those days are pretty much over. THIS I used to make KPQ characters to get more nubby friends, as I saw them as the common mapler, the fun ones. However, you know what they only ever do? They only chat me when they need something like "Dude, 200k please, I needa buy something" "Dude, how do I do this?" "What's this quest give?" and blah blah blah, they'll never talk to me for anything else, and only ask me when they need something. It's like the description of fobby girls by my Reading Teacher at this summer thingy (he was a college student)

I agree with this completely. most people these days think nx and lvls are everything. They thinking helping noobs isn't "cool". a lot of people try to impress others with levels and become jerks who think they're the best at everything. I know many people arent like that but there is a good amount of people who are and i think it needs to stop. noobs are noobs they cant help it but high leveled people just treat them like crap. we all gotta be nubs at some point right? o.o

Yeah i know, I am actually the nice type. Every noob that ask me for money i gave them 100k or 200k. Also, I would help them as long as they can cooperate and I would give them the link to basilmarket or hidden-street.

haha thanks outspoken. And I'm glad I'm seeing a lot of support. I'm going to make plans to do a full in scale research into the life of my noob. gonna take more screenies and test more random people and I'll be sure to make a nice long thread about it all. and i have absolutelly no idea how this is a wall of text to you clothboy its hardly a harder read than a picture book with a max of like 3-4 lines without a paragraph enter break and 4 pictures
