I use an HP Mini sometimes when I'm away from home. No problem at all except that the keyboard is too small to play well, so I just bring along a USB keyboard.

I play MS on my MSI Wind U100 and it works fine. As with any laptop, it's wise to have it plugged in while playing. I do have a full-sized USB keyboard that I use for it though...

Net books are low end pc's that are made to be small and easy to move, and since there so small there processing power is low so its not wise to play games (high in need of graphic processing) on a net book, there mainly for word processing and just surfing the web. Where as a laptops have high processing power and can have graphics which are much more powerful than net books. NinjaWolF

I have an asus Eee 1005ha which works perfectly because I upgraded the ram to 2 gigs and it can over or under clock by with a keyboard shortcut. I can have maple, itunes, msn, and firefox all running and it doesn't lag at all.

I kinda wanna know too cause my desktop is almost 10 years old and I wanted a new computer. Seeing as i'd want a laptop, they can go up to $1,000 for a good one. I'd really want to know a link to a good cheap netbook that would run MS well if anyone can help me with that answer o.O

i dont see why people think that maplestory need super high requirements to run. a netbook will run it no problem, but you just have to get past the resolution problem. the atom is actually a pretty good processor considering the size, and it is more than good enough to run maple w/o a problem. edit: the keyboard is small tho. good point @ above

I can play maple for about 4 hours without a power outlet on my asus 1008 seashell with almost no lag. I cant zak or ch 1 fm but other than that its good. Its keyboard is smaller and the home pgup pgdn and end keys are two button combos but other than that this a 92% keyboard. Its really up to you but for school work and price it cant be beat.
