You'd have to get top grades in your entire year's class, and even then you're not garunteed a spot. And also, if you're one of the top 10% in your year in high school, the UC system automatically guarantees that you will get accepted into one of the UC colleges. It just won't be your pick.

I'm starting sophomore year at Boston U, and I'm not looking forward to it, I was enjoying the fact that I am not constantly doing lab reports. People assume you have a lot of free time since you're in college, but NOT IF YOU HAVE SCIENCE CLASSES. D: Good luck with senior year

Of course, grades doesn't mean everything, They look at any extracurricular activities, and basically anything that makes you stand out from the rest.

Incedio654 : Of course, grades doesn't mean everything, They look at any extracurricular activities, and basically anything that makes you stand out from the rest. UC's take into consideration GPA and standardized test scores on a far higher level than extra-curricular activities and individuality. Privates are more into the "awesome" extra-currcular activities that you perform in and your personal statements. brownskinnedman : im applying to schools like UC Davis/Irvine/Santa Cruz nothing high level, ive heard transferring for Davis isnt too difficult, but i still obviously need to do well im ready to work in college, i need to straight my crap up edit- this thread depresses me im leaving :/ Haha yeah, SC and Davis aren't too hard to make, but they will require some decent grades and whatnot. Irvine is actually getting a lot more competitive now though considering they're on the top 50 colleges nationwide now.
