Theatres: Do they play movies when

Okay lets say there is a movie going to play at 11am then 3pm and then 7pm I went to the 11am show and saw that there was only 7 other people in the room This is not including me and my friends (we were in a group of 4 in total so there for there was 11 people in the room) I was wondering. If no one shows up. Like 0 people for the show. Do the theatres play the movie still? I am talking about those big theatres place, like Famous Players, Cinema or AMC

I've always wondered that too. If a movie was scheduled to play at a certain time and no one showed up. I assume they'd probably cancel playing it.

They'd still keep it on. All the movie time slots are prepared for the whole day, so they can't really shift things around if 'no one' shows up. Even if there were no ticket sales by the time the movie starts, who knows might 'come in late' so might as well play the movie to keep a 'profit margin' and 'drive up sales'.
