So I came back after a week of vacationing, and try to play some maplestory and begin downloading the patch. Halfway through it quarantines a virus called Artemis!5CD8FC9CF (not sure about the numbers and letters but I'm pretty sure it was something like that.) from the maplestory folder. So then I didn't really think of it and the patch finished about 2-3 minutes later and I pressed play it wouldn't let me play because it said I was missing the maplestory.exe, I searched the recycle bin but nothing was there. I'm reinstalling now, but any other suggestions to help this not happen next time would be nice. PS: I have McAfee.

False positive.

It's a false positive. Don't worry. Personally, I would get rid of McAfee and replace it with Avira or Avast!.

Nothing to worry about then right? Anyone know how to increase my maple download time. I can't watch TV right now my momma is trying to get some Asian channels and canceled our old cable for some Dish. Anything except closing windows cause I need my music.

For the Maplestory.exe its a hidden file to get see it my computer>control panel (classic view)> Folder Options> turn on viewing hidden files>it should be there

angramainyu : That's essentially McAfee telling you that it's trying to look busy, but it admittedly doesn't know what the hell it's talking about. Artemis, or any other generic trojan, is more often than not, a false positive. In the future, use Avast! antivirus instead. This is a regular occurrence for McAfee users.

I forget who posted it. But. MapleStory it self IS a virus, just not harmful. And Mc-Afee sucks. Get AVG 8.5 from a warez site or something. : Other than that Iunno :3

Avast fails. And you need to update your mcafee so that wont happen.

LolurQwerty : How can you ask this when over half of your thread have told you about Avast or AVG.. Well sir, I don't really know. XD

I personally use Avira, but Avast! is good too. I really wouldn't recommend AVG, as they don't have a rootkit detection in their free version.
