In Mu Lung Dojo how do I make the bar thing on the left go up faster? It takes soooo long. How do I make it go up?

It goes up (slightly) every time you hit a monster, so if you have a smaller damaged fast casting or multi-hitting attack you will raise the bar more quickly than if you have a single powerful attack. (My BM friend gets his bar up quite fast using Hurricane, where as using Paralyze it takes forever). Also summons(like Elquines) attacking does not seem to raise the bar.
