| I completely forgot about this, because last time we learned this was 2 years ago, and it comes that now we need to do this for precalc. Could anyone help me? @___@. |

| what two numbers multiply to the integer and add up to the number before the x value? e.g x^2+3x+2 the two numbers that multiply to 2 and add up to 3 are 1 and 2 there fore (x+1)(x+2) |

I think there are several others, maybe thats why I have such a hard time remembering them. |

| ixaxtav : How do you solve this? (2/x^2-4) - (1/x^2 - 3x +2) ? well x^2-4= (x+2)(x-2) x^2-3x+2= the 2 numbers that multiply to 2 and add up to negative 3 are -1 and -2, therfore,= (x-1)(x-2). now u have to find a common denominator therefre multiply the right by x+2) and the left by (x-2) [2(x-1) - (x-2)]/(x-1)(x-2)(x+2) and simplify normally. |
