Griffey doesn't drop Heroic Star often?

I think I'm going to cry. I'm trying to do my fourth job quest WITHOUT paying the 10m for the Secret Spell scroll. I managed to get the Heroic Pentagon from Manon on my first try, but I've killed 5 Griffey's and NOTHING. At this rate with the amount of pots I'm burning through (I'm soloing) I'll end up spending 10m or close to it. Is the Heroic Star supposed to ALWAYS drop? I don't get what I'm doing wrong... :~~~( PS - Yes I can just pay the 10m, I know that, but I want to feel like I've actually earned it, and paying 10m won't give me that satisfaction. Edit: bugger, forget it. 7 Griffey's and still nothing, bought the Secret Spell scroll. Lame...

took me like 3 or 4 griffeys too but only 1 manon but i found a 60% overall int from griffey so that covered my expenses

Dude did you pay CLOSE attention to the drops? I helped my brother do it and on the first one we killed, we didn't look closely. Second one it was behind all the pots and stuff lol.

@zyxfba: ahh ok, that's a relief cuz I was beginning to think I needed to activate some other quest or something. @frank14: positive, I have a pet and it picks up everything. @smextaci: hahaha... alright, I'm being a little dramatic. I just mean I'm getting frustrated cuz it's SUCH an annoying battle cuz he 1/1's so often and you've got the kents coming from all sides. grrrr...
