So how are Shadowers looking, right about now?

I'm interested in creating a Shadower and going on to keep it as my main... However my main fear is not being wanted. Wanted? Wanted as an attacker in boss runs, PQ's, parties, etc.. Now I know that recently they got buffed (half cd for backstep, etc.), and I would like to know how they are currently comparing to other attacking classes. Are they wanted in boss runs? PQs? Parties? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Shadowers are 1337. Once you get Mesos Explosion and Mesos Gaurd, leveling becomes very easy. I'm level 88 right now and I could level again in about 2 hours if I blow up a bunch of elderwraiths. However, once you get to level 90, as with any class, it's just a slow climb to level 120, and an even slower climb to 150+. However, this is easy to look away from because shadowers are one of the most entertaining classes in the game.

uhm in my opinion i think shadowers beat other classes in damage at zakum.With b-step you can hit 3arms,for me doing 40k total per monster meaning around 120k damage.Plus we have smokescreen that helps alot when bishop trying to ress a person,or to keep a person from running out of pots too soon.Also we are gifted with the skill assassinate which is mainly used at bosses.Before 4th job came out bombing zakum was the main way to kill it,now its like we are ignored.

when some1 dies on zak body, it's then you would like to have a shadower in the run to smoke screen you, while u get ressurected. for sure, they aren't taken in the main attackers group but they would join a 2nd party for sure. Also, Meso Guard makes you kinda tanks compared to NL who can die very easily from anything xD

shadowers have likea bijillion moves so its rly fun training and stuff just to see all the stuff they can do :P i would make one if i were u if u want a bossing character make a hero?

It's a balancing game. Since Shads aren't as favored for bossing, you need to just put in a bit more effort into connections. If you enjoy the class, the extra effort will definitely be worth it since you can have a class you both enjoy and can boss with it. xD

Ahh thanks guys. I wanna play one, but I'm contemplating wether I should just make a different char for now, and wait for a new server (ones due very soon) to make the shad.

i mean, if you plan on getting past level 140 on a shadower, you will have no trouble getting into PQ's then. generally I think shadowers and bandits are the funnest class in the game. Who cares about damage THAT much

Honestly, i don't really care about boss runs. Its about having fun :] usually i get invited to boss runs because of friends, its all about the friends and hookups :D

Shadowers could easily be considered the "red mage" of maple, as they are are great in nearly all aspects but not the best in 1 aspect. They have a bit of every class and throw them all together. They are like warriors as they are close range and are exceptional tankers. But aren't as strong, in most cases. (assassinate, meso guard, SB) They are like mages as they have techniques that can take out the enemy in a more skillful way and have poison on their weapons, as well as heal themselves. (venom, meso explosion, assaulter, Chakra) They are like bowmen as they have both range and stun. (Bstep) They are like sins with high avoid and can also use claws. (Shifter, L7[if sindit]) They are like pirates as they get both range and invis frames. (Bstep) Shadowers make it so you can enjoy a lot of aspects of the game without heavily relying on any other class. They are great in both solo and party.

Most people who tell you its hard to join a boss run as a shadower, dont acually have a shadower...No matter what class you have its about the people you know.

I've begun to reveal the truth. Shadowers are rather useless these days. With NLs on the rage, we'll never get into zak. HT is a joke because it's all the high levels that monopolize the sed mule section. So basically, we only have 1 thing, and that's class pride, although I'd hardly use that as a reason to make a shad. I'll keep going with my shadower, and see where it lands me. If it's not pretty, I'll finish the NL I was making.
