I got a keylogger.

So I got a keylogger, not going into how, hasn't gotten any of my accounts yet so it's all good. Only problem is, how do I get rid of it? AVG caught like 500 viruses from it but it's still here, and everytime i log off/back onto my computer my desktop fills with naughty things. I want to be able to do online banking again, play maple, w/e. How do I get rid of it? It's also blocking some antivirus sites, so I can't go to like the AVG site. EDIT: This virus also keeps trying to pop-up as a fake "security center". It's kinda funny because it has just a plain back background on the quicklaunch and it pops up with messages using horrid grammar and asking me to "please" use it.

eurthokhcr : If you aren't stupid as you claimed, you should know that the only thing you have to do is reformatting. I had 1 keylogger on my computer, it broke in to all my accounts, and made my computer shut down. I needed to DOS - reformat it to make it work. if you were as smart as you claimed then you would know that reformatting is NOT the only option download malwarebytes, use it, reinstall your anti-virus, i had a virus just like this one you have

Use an updated malwarebytes in safe mode. That should get rid of most of it, if not all of it. Then use ccleaner to get rid of the temporary files, which may have been infected with it.

They didn't say it in a negative way what so ever like "LAWL NOOB UNINSTALL" Reformatting would indeed solve the problem what ever it is.

I'm not that friggin stupid. why be such a jerk when he tries to help you? most anti virus programs are not able to get rid of all kind of viruses. seeing how your computer is infested with so many, the best solution is to reformat the hard drive then install anti viruses then be careful to scan things using online scanners before you download them next time. best is to use the mcafee siteadvisor or google tool bar. if you don't want to reformat you can use these free programs: http://research.pandasecurity.com/archive/New-Panda-Anti_2D00_Rootkit-_2D00_-Version-1.07.aspx http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php http://free.antivirus.com/clean-up-tools/

van1330gg : why be such a jerk when he tries to help you? Most people who tell you to reformat is either someone messing with you, or they truly have no idea what they're talking about. I don't know much about viruses because i'm generally much more safe then this(obviously can't say this anymore), and I atleast know reformatting is never the 1st option and always the last.

Do what they say if that don't work then you will have to reformat. Just same all your important data files (Picture *Wink wink*, game/program installers, etc) in a flash drive and reformat it. then just transfer the data to your PC and now all you have to do is reinstall the programs you used to have. But you should use this as your last options after trying spyware cleaners and stuff. And if you can spare 50 bucks get Mcaffe it really good. If you go to a dangerous site then they will automatically transfer you to their site before the virus gets in.
