psp memory sticks and games

so its almost my birthday and I'm thinking of getting an memory stick for my psp. But just like gamecube I thought I heard third party memory cards can sometimes format and die. And then you lose all your data. So if you are knowledgeable in this field check this thing for me. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=11090203 4 gb for 30 is an amazing deal btw. Also is there are drawback to playing games on your psp that you dled to your card? Such as slow load times or locking up and such?

Sandisk is the most reliable. If you're going to go with a memory card, go with Sandisk. (Also, their prices are CHEAP!)

I have a problem with my memory card. It won't let me reformat, computer OR camera.

if anything it's faster loading times because it's a SSD and not a spinning disk. And I bought my 4GB sandisk PSP card like a year ago and it's fine
