Lol Nexon Rant

| OMG NEXON LIEKS NX PPLZ ZOMG!11! Get over it. This game is, first and foremost, a business. In a perfect world yeah, every game would be free. But it's not possible, and not realistic. Believe it or not, it does cost money to run a game. I realize that they advertise Maple as being "Play for Free", but really, are they being dishonest? Outside of APQ, do you need NX to fully experience the game? (Anyone else remember Halloween two years back, when they released the mansion for NX users only? Fixed that pretty quick, eh?). No. Will NX give you an advantage? Obviously. But it still brings me back to my first question: Do you need NX eyes to enjoy the game? Will wearing jeans and a T-shirt instead of a level 80 overall make you feel that much better? Will getting a pet satisfy you? Do you really need a shop when, uh, we're on an auction site designed for Maplers? Do you need to tell the whole server whenever something silly happens for $1.30 to feel special? Will getting NX suddenly make your Zakuming experience better? No. (they were kind enough to give everyone fair access to 2x exp with the family system as well. Give credit where credit is due). The newest beef with the NX system, obviously, is the MTS. But in all seriousness, no one (0.01% of the population no one) buys so-called "godly" equips from the MTS. Why? Because they're godly. In other words, as they cost an obscene amount in-game, they also obviously cost an obscene amount in the MTS as well. In reality, the only thing the MTS really is used for is the selling of scrolls and occasionally cheap equips to mass scroll (and in turn the sellers use the NX for whatever they please). And if you hate that 0.01% that do buy godly equips with money (for $200+), then I don't know what to say to you. I just can't find it in me to understand why you'd want to really be such a damage freak, or feel jealous over someone willing to spend hundreds of dollars for an in-game item. Above it all, the MTS has, in reality, allowed players without access to NX or players unwilling to spend money on NX to get some. Not by merchanting the MTS, but by, simply, making meso in game. Do you know how many glove attack scroll quests there are in game? Off the top of my head I can think of the two in NLC, the Rombot quest, and Jane and the Wild Boar. Congrats, you just made (at max) 4k NX. Go get those jeans you so covet. And that's not counting the countless of other scroll quests in game, especially the new ones I haven't taken the time to learn about. (or get 3k NX, go get some glittering altaire earrings and sell them for 80 mill+. My goodness, you're one of those nub NX meso-makers we all hate). Or hell, merchant meso in game. Buy low, sell high. Sell two of those Glove Attack scrolls and buy 1) a shop permit, and 2) an owl of minera. Search up your favorite scroll, buy the cheapest 5 you find and sell them for average price. Profit. More NX for you. Hate merchanting? Then do what 80% of maplers are doing: Train |

| What about 4x exp? you can't get that without NX. It would be better if they let 2x exp rep to stack with event |

But this is a ridiculous post. It wasn't long ago non-NX users were complaining about not having 2x. Not to mention all it would do is give NX-user 8x anyhow, so all it would accomplish is you asking for 8x instead. |

| How can I enjoy the game when people with Nx is getting so much farther. If I want to train, I'll get ksed by people who used 2x Exp to get to a higher level then me, I'll be weaker cause they Gacha-ed and bought a 21Atk BWG. So what can I do now? Sit there an talk? There are better things to do that with then Maple. |

And it's also kind of (I'm sorry if I sound mean) a stupid point to make, since you can't really make the generalization that higher level = 2x NX nub, but I understand the point. 2. I didn't deny it'd give you an advantage, but really, how many people have 21 atk BWGs? I'm a level 132 unfunded Paladin. Yes, unfunded. I was KSed like you; I lived through dexless sins running into my V/Hoodoo rooms during public 2x and ruthlessly out damaging/maneuvering/killing me. But the fact of the matter is (I can only speak for Khaini) that it's only a very small % of Maple that actually can call themselves legit KSers. I mention the dexless sins that did KS me, but there were plenty that killed a few and left me to my training. Here's my advice: The worst thing you can do is to tell someone to CC immediately. Often people kill a few before moving on, so give them that chance. If they indeed are planning on trying to steal your channel, then you've met a jerk. You having NX wouldn't change that fact. |

| Well, lemme tell you something. Nobody said you NEEDED to buy NX. It was never mandatory. But who in their right minds say that it doesn't give an advantage? 1. 2x exp cards that last for FOUR (4) hours for only 2 measly dollars, which some people have no access to 2. Gach. One lucky ticket can land you a fortune. Gach with over 50 tickets and you're almost guaranteed to be rich 3. Hammers. While other people can upgrade their decent gear with NX, others are stuck with mediocre gear because they can't buy hammers 4. Store permits. No human is a robot that stands in the FM for 24 hours spamming "S>______@@@". Store permits fix that problem, but do you need nx? Most certainly you do. 5. Pets. Having someone loot and pot for you is amazing. Never dying, never slowing down training to pick up a valuable, why not get it? It costs NX. 6.Safety charms. If a person keeps dying a lot, the NX user has the benefit of not losing exp. Does the NXless person get the same benefits? No. 7. AP/SP resets. So many people who were noobs back in the day put too many points into their secondary stats. The NX user could fix that. The NXless can't. 8. VIP Teleport rocks. Why does a person have to wait for a long 10 minute boat ride and walk a long way when the NX user can tele there? 9. Smegas. Can't get rid of an item you're trying to sell? Smega it! Only problem? It costs NX. 10. Even though this may not count, those little weather messenger things give a free 20 att boost + a message to the whole map. Why shouldn't you buy them? NX. EDIT: Forgot the last bit: My point is that the gap between NX and NXless have gone too far. In the time that it takes an NXless person to get from level 1-120, a person with NX could get to 160 in that same time. NX helps way too much to even think about it. We take everything for granted. |

A lot of people in my BL trade part 2x exp, so 4 hours is easily attainable. 2. Good. There are plenty that fail as well, but we forget about those. And if you read my post, I didn't deny NX gave people an advantage. I merely stated it was unnecessary to play the game. 3. Un-hammered items generally sell for more, since hammer slots can fail. 4. Aren't we on basilmarket? 5. You must've ignored my entire MTS part of OP. Please read. And yes, I do love pets. 6. I die. A lot. I don't have safety charms. I also get over it. And as a warrior I lose 10% per death, which is almost an hours worth of training. 7. If you're desperate for damage, that's your preference. 8. i agree. 9. Annoying. 10. Haha, yeah. That's true. |

It's like trying to race people from those racing shows like NASCAR with a stock honda civic. You can't compete with them. |

| Excuse my noobiness but what is MTS? And to make a point. I feel nx and non nx users can agree that one BIG issue isn't that something are over priced. It's the fact that they last 3 months for a 5 dollar shirt. I mean i am an nx user myself but usually i'll stick to changing the hair and eyes and getting a shop cause we all know there are more people that check shops then basil. (besides that i normally pick thieves and pirates cause they have cool clothes.) And i can't complain about gacha cause its all luck. i just seem to get unlucky with lvl 40 claws but who doesn't when they take a gacha risk |

I'm an unfunded 132 Paladin, and haven't used a dime on NX (and I can't merchant to save my life. No patience.). Can't really say I've been "left in the dust". This game requires a bit of dedication. I've found that, in general, NX users are more dedicated to this game (which they obviously are, if they're willing to spend money). |
