Yes. You can go to Ereve by taking the ships and still make a Cygnus Knight by talking the Shooshie (?), the big bird NPC on Ereve Island.

All you got to do is go to Ereve and once you enter the map with Shinsoo or that bird thingy the Cygnus thingy will pop up. (Excuse my thingy's)
