whats the point of capping a stat?

well yea what is the point of capping ur stat like str or luk or w/e i dont really get it... people say to cap w/e at ## and then they say to go buy a ## stat overall or w/e of what u need for example-- im a gunslinger and people tell me to cap my str at like 60 or so, im gunna nee like 100 str to use the other weapons later on, so the tell me to get str equips.. what i dont understand is y can i just go normol str and buy dex equips instead...doesnt that save money too? sorry if that was hard to understand, i coulnt really think of a better way to explain myself. but someone please give me the reason on y to cap a stat.....

well for this purpose lets say 5 of your main stat = 1 att we are both gunslingers You have a zhelm and I have a zhelm I capped my str 15 below the weapon im using you didn't cap your str and use the same weapon as me I get 6 att from capping 15 str and getting 15 dex from zhelm because by capping I wear the SAME weapon as you BUT have more stats put in the my main stat thus giving me more damage you get 3 att from the 15 dex given by zhelm edit - oh sorry ddn't read your thread through the middle lots of items come in bundles of dex and str 0_0 zhelm and MoN are examples

Well for sins, Dex is Cheaper then Luk so, its cheaper to put points in Luk and buy a Dex overall as opposed to vice versa.

So you could get more points onto your first stat. Usually, you only cap a stat if you can get more att out of it, or if you need a bit of your secondary stat to wear an item :P

ye Im lowdex :P. You cap so you have the right aqmount of dex to wear weapon and the maximum luk.

A good STR top + Pendant + Zakum Helmet = Easily 35 STR less than you need to raise. If you're lv100, you could cap at 65. Raising it all the way to 100 would be stupid and just lower your damage range if there are equips that add BOTH STR and DEX. Methayne : Silly thread. No, you are absolutely right. No point to capping at a certain number... only cap for equips where you can only scroll for secondary stat (str) or when str is cheaper and zhelm+depstar (because it's dex and str)

if u needed 100 str i would cap at 80 (i know this isnt what ur asking) and just get a dep star and zhelm. this allows u to add more points into dex thus making ur damage higher.

its more damage ... since your a slinger ... dex the main thing but then again .. str items are hard to get you know... so might as well be a normal str slinger
