I need girl advise

So I'm pretty good friends with a girl, but I want to start going out with her and I'm not sure if she likes me that way or not. Sometimes I'll be with her and some friends and while she's sitting next to me she'll curl up next to me. And she'll give off the impression that she's flirting sometimes. Other times she compares me to other guys and says she likes them more. Is she joking? I can never tell. Then when I talk to her sometimes she seems like she wants to get out of the conversation, but other times she won't stop talking (in a good way). I have no clue. How do I find out if she likes me or not?

Have you tried requesting the information from her? Pretty effective method, I think.
