lawl. im pretty sure becuase there was an X amount of states between union and confederate and that would out balance them making the union in charge. and also more free states.

Yeah, I think that has something to do with it. After getting an A- on the exam this year, I pushed it all out of my head. Most I remember is when we studied Woodstock and how I won the 'Olympics' game before the test because I knew nearly all of the artists and their songs. Yay.

Most western territories went to the north, giving more political power and economical power to the north. Once the north had more votes, they could overpower the south, which would take away from their main source of economoics;slavery. After Lincoln was elected to the office, the south had no choice to sucede, because even their fullest attempts couldnt stop his election.
